We are a truganic, biodynamic, permaculture farm in the Catskill mountains of New York State, two hours northwest of NYC. We use NO chemical fertilizers, and NO pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or "cides" of any kind. We follow all the organic standards and above. 24 acres with approx. 4 acres of wetlands, 2 1/2 acres of fenced in vegetable garden, a small orchard and herb gardens with more than 25 different herbs. Season is April through October. We appreciate 5 hours of work per day, 6 days per week, and the rest of the time is yours to enjoy. Visitors help with planting, transplanting, weeding, spreading hay and wood chip mulch, fertilizing, harvesting, making biodynamic preps, clearing of brush, stacking of wood logs, rototilling, maintaining hugelkultures, building fences, pathways, ponds, other building projects, etc.

We appreciate stays of at least 2 weeks.

We provide whole, unprocessed vegan/vegetarian food. Opportunity to learn how to make fermented food and drinks and gourmet raw food preparation with Award-winning Master Chef. Prepare your own breakfast and lunch (we provide the food), and share what we prepare for dinner at 6 pm.

No smoking, drinking or drugs.

We can pick you up from the Best Western Motel in Matamoras, PA. The Coach USA ShortLines Bus comes to Matamoras from NYC... you can get the ShortLines bus at the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 42nd St. and 8th Avenue in NYC.

Accommodations for 4 people, 2 rooms in the house, and 2 sides in a divided attic. Internet access provided. English/Spanish spoken.

There is a lake within walking distance (1 mile), and also a Buddhist temple (Kadampa) nearby, that provides occasional $5. vegetarian dinners and opportunities for meditation and other activities. There is also a natural preserve nearby for walking in Nature. The Delaware river in the town of Barryville, is 10 minutes away by car and there are a lot of river activities available, such as kayaking, canoeing, swimming, zip line, paintball etc. The site of the famous 1969 Woodstock Music Festival is approx. 20 minutes away by car. The festival actually took place in a town called Bethel, and there is a museum there dedicated to remembrances of the Woodstock event. The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, which is located at the same site, inspires, educates, and empowers people through the arts and humanities by presenting a diverse selection of culturally-rich performances, popular artists, and community and educational programming throughout the year.
