We wish to invite you, fellow creatives and creators to be a part of this adventure, to come and help build the festival together with us, to add your touch to the story, to experience the raw Icelandic nature, to share your knowledge and find your tribe. The festival will be a gathering of the Nordic permaculture enthusiasts, a sharing of knowledge and experience, a co-creation and experiment of generating thriving ecosystems and cultures and above all an attempt at proving that we can work together with nature in harmony.
The Festival is being hosted by in Iceland on the 20-23 of July 2017. Presently the organizers are gathering at the site near and in the village of Þorlákshöfn, giving the project momentum by hosting events, workshops and action days. The site is a barren, but interesting landscape, close to the town of Þorlákshöfn, bordering both a rock mine “the Pit” and a disposal site for mostly organic waste “the Tip”, giving the site easy access to a variety of resources and building material. The crew is dominantly focused on creating the necessary facilities and preparing for the arrival of more volunteers. The heart of the camp site is being formed and has a shelter for tools, outhouse, and campsite. Simultaneously a sweat lodge is being constructed, as well as an outdoor kitchen. Soon a yurt will arrive to occupy the heart of the festival. The main constructors David and Peter are living on site focusing all their energy on creation, Nicholas comes bringing melodies and magic straight from San Marcos, Guatemala, with the recent addition of Nicole cooking up a delicious kitchen flow, and Mördur the mastermind behind this whole festival holding all the threads together, supported by a growing community of creators, creatives, neighbours and supporters.

We have a varied and growing access to disposed of or unwanted resources, which solidly places The Five R’s at the heart of the festival (Re-fuse, Re-duce, Re-use, Re-pair, Re-cycle). The landscape is of great interest as it is at the beginning of development, which will offer an insightful perspective of human interaction with the landscape with focus on a regenerative, or in this case rather accelerated successive development. Already the project is building bridges between worlds of interest and action creating a community of stewards, highlighting the permaculture principles of Earth-care, People-care, and Fair share. On one hand the festival is circling around the story of introducing human beings into a natural landscape in a harmonious role, on the other hand the story is about radical upcycling, creating structures, community and facilities necessary for healing out of what is generally considered trash.
There will be five volunteer crews and they will interact on many levels

The groups are the building, land, nourishment, art and organization crew.
