Hello. We really would like and need to have helpers. But the corona stops it. So we have to wait for vaccine or for tests which is 100% secure.

Mostly we need help with planting, weeding and painting, fencing and some building projects and other small things on a small farm like ours. And also cut down bushes and some small trees in the forest.

Organic Status: since 1975 ecological (organicbiological).

Very welcome to us. This is a part of the North. In summer no darkness no nights just a very friendly mild sun shining all the time. Just enjoy what nature can give. In coldest winter not so much sun only ghostlight from millions of stars and the moon and northern lights the aurora which moves over the sky in curtains of colors.

Weather now has become strange. Very little snow and warm weather for winter-temperature.

When we have helpers here we see it as an advantage to have two volunteers during the same period. We usually can not accommodate more than two helpers at the same time. But sometimes there are three and sometimes only one.

We are trying to live and have our farming as it is sustainable and rugged. It is ecological (organic) and we try to treat animals and nature in an ethical dignity.

We are a couple and our children are grown up and moved to other places on this earth. We are not working so hard and speedy anymore. Our bodies and minds do not like that.

We live in the northern part of the planet Earth. All our work is therefore adapted to nature, and we follow the rhythm of nature as much as possible. This means that during the winter period, which is about six months long, are working days rather short. It is difficult to perform meaningful work unless you have the special skills that we need at the time. It`s dark, it`s cold and it`s a lot of snow. (Except for this season).

We have normally no spring or just some days. Summer is two months and the autumn three to four months. This means that we have to work pretty much if not the weather makes it impossible for work. In summer, the sun is up day and night. It never gets dark. The working time during the most intense time can therefore be very long. But most of the time we do not do much after dinner.

It is best to be here about three weeks. A shorter period does not give you much knowledge and us maybe not so very much help either. If we get along you can stay longer.

Our food is, if possible, and mostly ecological/organic and depending on the season also grown by us here.

We try to leave as little footprint and bad problem to future generations as we can. We are still not particularly extreme in that regard.

From the summer of 2015 we produce solar(sun)electricity. And we have the experience of having an electrical car for two years in this climate. And we will have an electrical car now also.

More info? Just some specialized info. Not so important to read.

From late November to end of January we heat up the house and garage and hot water with wood. It is rest-wood from the forest. We will use less coming years. We consume about 100 cubic meters of wood each year. To chop and haul wood home and cut and split it in the right sizes is a cornerstone of life here. We take trees from our own forest. The birch is dried for two years before it can be used.

We have our own water source that runs up to 63 meters deep. The water is extremely soft. The hardness is less 1A dH. Medium hard water having a hardness level of 510A dH. It is important to know the hardness of the water in which one lives. Our water therefore requires only half as much tea, coffee powder, shampoo or detergent in places where you have hard water.

We have also now a sauna/bastu heated up with wood. Family members who visit us in cold winter likes to use it and then swim around in the snow. WE do not use it o very often.

A bit more info if you are interested?

If you ask, we will give course all the knowledge we possess. Whatever it applies to anything. Your stay here will be a kind of family member. The same demands on you as on ourselves.

During the summer period there is no scheduled free time. Seeds must be planted, weeds must be eliminated, berries must be picked, the harvest must be addressed, firewood must be cut, houses must be painted, buildings must be finished inside as well as outside. The animals must be cared for. These are tasks that must be performed, and it is not possible to wait to do the next day. We must follow the climate and nature. Some days can be very long. Everything is very intense here. But we rest and enjoy sun and make a break of everything when we want. When it is too hot we go swimming in the near bathing-place. We can use bothe rivers and lakes very close.

It is possible to listen to the silence and see the northern lights flicker by. Northern lights are only possible to watch during the dark period of the year.

Vegetables and berries picked just for our own and friends`household. In the river, we can catch fish which we then can eat. The animals are out year round and during the winter they are just in the woods. WE have now 4 animals left.

We have no ability to pay money for help from wwoofers or helpers.

This is a meat eating region. If you are vegan or vegetarian there can be problem if you need specialized food. It depends what we have stored and season fr vegetables.

Smoking is not something that can be done on the farm or in the surrounding area.

Some of our forest is very unique. We have animals in the woods so they can eat the plants of the forest`s ecological systems. In Sweden it is called skogsbete; forest pasture. It only existed in Sweden. Never in Europe during the last 1000 years.

Info about wild animals here if you like:

In the forests around it are the lynx, deer, beavers, bears and elks, foxes, ravens, owls, hawks, eagles and many animals are wild.

Cleaning and maintaining houses and cooking are things that must always be done regardless of the season. Both daily and weekly basis.

We have always had insurance for those who come and help us if an accident should occur. This insurance applies regardless of where you come from. If you are from an EU country such as the European Union acquis. But it is a good idea to have your own insurance.

It is you who is responsible for asking about everything you can not. To ask questions five times is better than none at all if you are unsure. Tractors, cars, machines, tools, buildings, animals, etc., can be dangerous if you do not deal with them properly. And expensive damage to equipment may occur if the hand marine errors. So ask one more time and you never have accomplished the task, ask again so you understand.
