This is a family home on an acre of landscaped Australian bush garden in a seaside town on the south east coast of Australia. We grow our own vegies, all in boxes, some of them whicking beds. We also have some fruit trees, chickens and a very friendly dog. We are looking for helpers either with carpentry/building skills/qualifications to help with some small scale changes in the house, some outdoor paving, or helpers to work in the garden doing seasonal maintenance, putting more whicking beds in, and helping us to remove some end of life shrubs and small trees.

We have a very large light room looking onto the garden available for you to sleep in, with a queen size very comfy latex mattress, as well as a fold out couch with a comfy queen size mattress. This would suit 1 or 2 people, either singles, couples, or friends traveling together. Bathroom is light and airy, may be shared with our son.

Your room has a dining table, another couch and chairs, and a small bar with fridge and sink, no stove or oven at this stage. You are welcome to share meals with us, or to look after yourself by prior agreement.

You will need your own transport as we are on the fringe of town. We are on the Bellarine Peninsula, 5 minutes drive to some of Victoria's most beautiful swimming and surfing beaches, coastal walks, rivers and estuaries, and right on the beginning of the Great Ocean Road. Easy access to the Mornington Peninsula via the Queenscliff ferry, and to Geelong and the Western Plains, and all this region has to offer in terms of fresh local produce. Or drive/catch the train to Melbourne for the weekend for a culture and nightlife fix.

We are new to hosting, though we are regular and enthusiastic hosts to friends and family. We look forward to hearing from you, to having a chat, and to possibly hosting you here in our beautiful bush garden by the sea.
