WELCOME TO GLORIOUS RURAL Victoria-please contact by email/phone text;then talk-UPDATE: Yes,I am "up front/forthright" with the profile so there are no inconvenient suprises for either helper or me the host- then we can all relax & enjoy the peaceful, tranquil environment.-

Opportunities approx 2nd & 3rd week of Dec or during Jan. at both farm locations- domestic or outdoors.-
A lowland farm OR bush/wilderness retreating experience in the mountains- very natural;-there are lots of trees, little is human-changed; compared with cities & the type of farms for your vegetables & grains-flour/-for your bread, pasta, bakery items. We grow cattle as naturally as we can.

Wanting some adventurers for mountains tops in the Victorian High Country;to get things ready for the summer season on the station -so general all rounder things for fit, healthy people;at the off-grid alpine home... So helping with stables/sheds,branches on fences,{only very experienced/accredited, may possibly use the chainsaw},yard, house painting & other infrastructure items, etc, are the main priorities at the moment-at the alpine farm.Possibility to do indoor house painting; or be a domestic spring cleaning dynamo helper-do any helpers do/want this?.It may challenge your ideas of what you think sustainable is,- regarding your food useage ,seasonality & food miles & resources balances! At the lowland-Learn farming techniques, and various other things-fruit orchard of 40 trees, veggie garden, housecow, chooks, dog upkeep, paddock weeds, general yard maintenance etc.Living next to the bush, next to national parks - invasive weeds and pest animals{deer particularly} are issues. I do not check emails regularly so please phone/text for a quicker reply. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::.::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
GENERAL INFORMATION. Looking for an environment filled with MILLIONS stars at nights?- Wanting safe, reliable guests; on a cattle station that uses dogs, horses and toyota, no motorbikes.

Activities have early morning starts and are very dependent on the weather and animals behaviour/situation.The situation is mutually flexible, regarding hours "helpx ing", doing activities, generally mornings.

The accommodation is in a caravan with its own separate ablution block and a separate basic cooking area if required or in the main homestead. Guests that are happy are very welcomed because of their maturity, clean up after themselves and think practically.
You NEED to bring a hat-that covers your ears, gloves, sturdy boots, long sleeves & trousers for outdoor activities.Your own torch/light/flashlight, NOT requiring power to charge it, supplements small solar power lights.
GENERALLY NO horse riding-- Horse riders MUST be EXTREMELY competent, able to implement instruction and judged for suitability for here.Frightening the animals-cattle/horses results in safety issues for them, after any poor occurrence.

Trial stay ...then mutual arrangement.Required ON ARRIVAL:waiver of liability,-in English-a paper copy of your CURRENT insurance-covering medical,ambulance,farm;outdoor-adventure activities.NO PAPERWORK{in English} = NO PLACEMENT. and a check of your passport, visa {because it is a legality for Australian farmers,& I don't want an enormous Govt penalty/fine for having an illegal/no passport person on my farm in Australia}; plus an emergency contact.
No smoking or illegal substances.Honesty,& your own computer/wifi needed too.
Train from Melb. daily. Bus and train to Sydney-Bairnsdale via Canberra,2/wk from Bairnsdale.

There are lakes, sea, snowfields, river and bush close by. Native animals -kangaroos,wombats,possums,emus,echidnas etc in paddocks.Koalas in the locality.Lots of bush walks.

Points:You must be compatible with the philosophy of a beef farm -You must like animals, the cattle smell as do the horses....If you do not like:-pooh on your boots or getting mud/dust on your clothes, you wash dishes by hand, there is no clothes dryer and you use pegs on the clothes line, use limited tank water-short showers-then this is not the place for you.
Helpx is a wonderful principle -but I will not falsify any details for visa extension-such people who ask for this, show their level of integrity:

Enjoy travelling in Australia.
