We are a 3 acre homestead farm locatedin the Slocan Valley in south eastern British Columbia. We have a large vegetable garden and are working towards becoming a market garden. There are also numerous fruit and nut trees on the property and we keep chickens and sell eggs.

We ask that helpers work 6 hours per day, 5 days per week in exchange for accomodation, fruits and vegetables from the garden, eggs from our chickens, and some staple groceries. We don't expect you to have any specific skills, but we expect you to be flexible, willing to learn and work hard.

Accomodation is a charming and private vintage school bus tiny home. The bus has it's own kitchen, shower with hot running water, dining area, double bed and outhouse. Towels and bedding are provided. Helpers prepare their own meals in the bus. There is no cell service or wifi, but wifi is available at the cafe in Winlaw, a ten minute drive away.

Our main projects this year are growing fruits and vegetables in the garden, improving and expanding infrastructure, and the construction of a new shop.

The Greyhound bus no longer serves our region. Kootenay Rideshare ( is a great option for arranging transportation here from other parts of BC or Alberta. Also, Silver City Stagelines ( operates a bus service between Kelowna and Nelson/Castlegar.We can pick you up from Nelson, Castlegar, or other places nearby.

There are many nearby recreational opportunities including biking or walking on the Slocan Valley Rail Trail, swimming in the Slocan River, and many local hiking trails. For those with back country experience, there is Valhalla Provincial Park.We are located close to five (five!) different hot springs in Nakusp and Ainsworth.
