This is a small intimate creative arts retreat center in the forest surrounded by a brook, off the grid, with composting toilets, a tiny garden area ( anyone with a green thumb will be gratefully welcomed...the garden is suffering as I seem to be missing the gardner gene:-) ), three huts, a large studio and meeting room and a main house/ lodge. We specialize in workshops and retreats that combine the arts and focusing. We always need help winterizing and spring cleaning: cutting and stacking wood , loading three sheds, cutting and collecting kindling, tending the small garden making new raised beds, getting the huts ready for spring, storms up or down, clearing the trails, creating new trails, chain saw know how a plus, landscaping/creative gardening and/or carpentry skills a super plus for new projects. Organizing art materials, labeling and cleaning is another ongoing project for rainy days. Will trade lodging and stocked refrig ( helpers have their own kitchen, toilet and outdoor shower ) for one week up to one month work, 24 hours a week, flexible days. Hope to share some evening meals from time to time. Spring, summer and fall! April-November.

I live in the main house and a co creator of the center lives just down the road. We are a ten minute drive from Brattleboro an incredibly vibrant progressive small Vermont town ( 13,000) filled with art activiities of all sorts and good places to eat. There are swimming holes all around and day hiking trails all over the place. I have three bikes at the helpers disposal and there is a bike trail which leads into town or I would be happy to drop helpers off for day excursions. There is also a train, the vermonter, which goes up North for other adventures. I am a 2d visual artist and some supplies are available in the studio for helpers that want to paint, draw, create.
