We are an international Hostel, Bed and Breakfast, and Extended-Stay accommodation. Come stay with us and help host thousands of guests from all over the world who come here to vacation. For 5 days each week you will meet travelers, intermingle with the family, give information, serve breakfast, and answer questions. On your days off you can go explore, hike, camp, fish, and enjoy this scenic playground, explore the National Parks of Southern Utah: Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon, Canyonlands, The Wave, and Grand Staircase National Monument?

Our building is a 25 room "retired" hospital/school. We have 80 beds, 6 kitchens, 25 bathrooms, 15 showers, a library, a game/theater room, lounge and a reception area. Everything in town is within walking distance and many people walk or ride bikes around town.

For the typical work schedule:
You will be working one of 3 shifts each day. On Morning shift from 7:30 to 12:30 you will unlock doors, turn on lights, set out and monitor the breakfast bar, check guests out, strip beds, clean rooms, and start the laundry.

Afternoon Shift from 12:30 to 5:30 you will empty the trash, clean the bathrooms, clean the kitchens, and work on projects.

The Evening shift from 5:30 to 10:30 fixes dinner for the staff, finishes laundry while they watch for guests to arrive and checks them in, and does activities with the guests.

It doesn't take that long to do the work but we need someone in the building at all times so you are "On Watch" for those hours. It is really actually quite relaxed and you have time each day to explore, hike, and meet new people.

You get a scheduled 48 hours off every 4 days, so some are on the weekend and some are during the week. We can also adjust that schedule if you want two days off in a row or something like that.

For breakfast you can eat off the breakfast bar or fix yourself eggs or pancakes with supplies provided in the kitchen. Dinner is prepared for all the staff by those on the evening shift. We all eat together "family style" because that is also when we have staff meeting and discuss any pertinent events, problems, changes to the schedule, etc. For lunch you can eat leftovers from dinner, fix yourself something in the kitchen with supplies provided, or go out to lunch in town.

You will be staying in a private room or with the person you are traveling with. The room is in our staff area where other volunteers stay in other private rooms. You will share a bathroom and showers with other workers and guests.

Note: Because we offer private accommodations and full meal service, we do not off any monetary ($) compensation.
