Hi! Salut! Hola! Saluton!

We live in a beautiful isolated place located at 1000m in the Pyrenees mountains since 2013. It's very calm and wild (Pyrenean chamois, deer, foxes...). There's a wonderful view of the high mountains. Our valley is inspiring for alternative ways of living! We are starting a small organic farm to produce mushrooms and aromatic plants. We have a terraced garden, fruit trees, an outdoor mushroom space and some forest to take care. Before starting this project, we travelled as helpers around Europe and South America, and now we are happy to welcome people here!

This year (2019) our goal is to install an indoor mushroom culture in an old restored barn (we'll be doing the partitions, floors, insulation, but first we'll have to dig out some old manure to put in the garden). We will also continue gardening & picking plants/mushrooms and close to nature forestry. Beginners and experts are welcome, there's a place for all who aren't afraid of getting their hands dirty!

We can share about mountain life, wild and cultivated plants/mushrooms, eco-building, self-sufficiency (wood heating, solar electricity, compost toilets, gardening), social ecology, permaculture, mutual aid, videomaking... There are many trails for hiking, a cultural bar close by and a few local markets in the area, the biggest one is in Saint Girons every saturday morning.

For accomodation, you will have a rustic house, 20 minute walk from the farm (we currently live at the farm, you will be alone at the house). It's rudimentary but with a great view of our valley from the terrace and balcony. There's a small bathroom, compost toilets, a living room & kitchen with food for breakfast and dinner. We will eat lunch together on the farm during the working day. Meals are organic, mostly vegetarian/gluten-free, with occasionally local meat/cheese/honey. It's also possible to camp on the farm with tent or small van. There is no internet at the house, we can sometimes turn on the wifi at the farm. During your free time, our place is great for activities like reading, writing, drawing, hiking, biking...

We are at the end of the Biros valley. We try to go to town only once or twice a week, and you can come along with us to visit friends or to concerts. There's a train/bus from Toulouse to Saint Girons. Then there's a bus to come to our village or you can easily hitch-hike, or we can come pick you up.

You will need a flashlight, boots/hiking shoes, working clothes, and warm clothes. You can bring something to share from your area, or just your good vibes!

See you soon!
