Hey There,
We are building our shelter this summer and would love to welcome extra helping hands and hearts!

We live on a 100+ acre woods/field that is part of a land trust with fellow community members. We have 2.5 acres to build our own personal homestead on and this will be our first summer transforming that idea into a reality.

We would love support building our strawbale home and are welcoming anyone who has ever wanted to learn how to build a home with primarily locally sources material. Our build will also include a rubble trench, earthbag construction elements, raw sheeps wool insulation, cedar shakes for our gable ends and an earthen floor. We will also be using cob to cover the walls! If you are at all interested in making art with us let us know!

Our accommodation will be tents (which we too will be sleeping in) and completely off grid with wifi at a nearby center.

We are asking for roughly 3-4 hrs energy exchange five days a week in exchange for 2-3 meals / day.

South Knowlesville is quite rural, despite being only about 30 minutes east of the Trans-Canada Hwy as it runs adjacent to the St.John River. A 20 min car ride north or south will bring you to nearest gas station/convenience store, through the villages of Glassville or Coldstream; and 10 minutes further will access you grocery/hardware/pharmacy/take-out and other such amenities: Florenceville or Hartland. We are about 1.5 hour drive north of capital of Fredericton.

New Brunswick is incredibly grounding, endearing and a real treasure of Turtle Island/Canada. There are hiking trails within a few minutes walk and there are eco-houses and organic gardens (and opportunities to trade with them) on the land trust.

We look forward to being in contact with you!
