A biodiverse orchard, nursery & learning space which is still in its infancy.
Join us on the journey of orcharding, living simply and following the seasons.

We follow permaculture principles and deliver a wide range of educational events throughout the year to teach others about regenerative farming, food growing skills and community connection.

We are a family of five and Charlie works 3 days each week off the farm. The 3 kids are all at school.

We founded the local community food co op and are heavily involved in that as well as being very proactive in the local food movement in the region.

We have a retrofitted packing shed that is self contained for our visitors and helpx crew. We run a large vegetable garden and have chickens, geese, bees and dogs.

We don't encourage helpex folk during Winter as it is extremely cold but we welcome them for the Spring Events season Sept - November and the Autumn harvest and preserving season February to April.

During Spring the activities you would be helping with are: Supporting and attending our workshops, establishing seedlings in the hoop house, helping the chicken breeding program, grafting and planting out of the nursery trees, Re-mulching and training the orchard trees. (for a full list of our Spring events, go to our website)
The Autumn activities include, Vegetable garden maintenance, Vegetable and fruit harvesting and preserving, completion of fencing projects, butchering of sheep, small building projects before Winter, completion of irrigation in the garden and orchard.

We are very close to the hamlet of Stanley and are 8kms from the busy tourist town hub of Beechworth. We have lots of bike and walking tracks nearby as well as swimming holes (we also have a beautiful big dam on our own property).

We have capacity to sleep 5 in the packing shed cabin but 1-2 at a time is our preference.

We are looking for people interested in regenerative farming who are familiar with permaculture. We would prefer you to have had at least a little experience on farms. We would also prefer those looking for stays of at least 3 weeks and we encourage you to stay for no more than 3 months.

We cook all our own meals from scratch using food mostly grown on the farm and eat as a family for all evening meals - vegetarians are well catered for as are gluten free diets. We would prefer non smokers and love helpxers who love to cook.

We generally ask that you contribute 5 hours of work each day but this can sometimes be more (during harvest) or much less (if we worked at an event on the weekend). We gather to plan the week over dinner on Sunday nights and we check in over breakfast each morning. We provide all meals except Saturday nights and Sunday breakfast and lunch where we encourage you to go exploring the nearby villages for cafe goodness.
