Welcome to our friendly haven! Situated in a traditional English village with lovely countryside this holiday/study placement is suitable for male students 18 to 27yrs. Usual time spent with us is two to eight weeks.
The 1/2 acre charity garden comprises several different themed areas or 'rooms' each with varied collections of plants. It is registered on The National Gardens Scheme.
We like to have a relaxed, sympathetic and happy atmosphere. Your input and ideas will be appreciated.
The unique wildlife friendly garden is a Registered Charity which: has public open days; receives visiting groups; teaches horticulture & conservation; runs workshops, community projects, wildlife audits; and offer skill training for young unemployed.
We suggest a maximum 20 hours a week helping us out. All other time is your own for touristic, cultural, sporting activities.

Young people from the village visit to use the pool and gym. There are various opportunities to socialise locally via organisations and activities. And contacts via the friendly village pubs! And walks & visits and actvities with your host.
Chippenham (8minutes away by bus) has 2 night clubs and also lots of pubs. Good range of shops
5 minutes walk away in the village there is: a shop & post-office; 2 traditional English pubs; church; golf club.
We like for each helper to arrive 2 or 3 days before his predecessor leaves. This helps with induction and socialising.
YOUR HOST STEPHEN: I was a professional painter/sculptor; art & history teacher; interior designer. Now I write & teach on wildlife, conservation, history.
