We are a family with 2 kids (9 and 11) who exchanged our previous lives (as a nurse and engineer) for a `back to basics` life where we try to grow healthy food for as many people as possible. On our small farm, at 750m altitude and with views of the Pyrenees, are 250 laying hens, 4 cows, 3 goats, 3 pigs, a dog and 3 cats. We sell our produce on the local markets. We both completed our PDC with Richard Perkins at Ridgedale permaculture. Our `heroes` are Joel Salatin, Alan Savory and the we move our cows and chicken tractors every day and grow tomatoes in our greenhouse...
After having wwoofed ourselves during our `transition`, we now welcome wwoofers in order to share this wonderful way of life and to learn from each other. Jobs on `offer` depend on your preference and the season:
- animal chores, wood chopping, making hay (by hand), cutting trees, painting the kitchen, cooking, fencing, harvesting, canning, constructing the wwoofers cabin :-) or our outside rocket stove, planting trees etc...
Like us, be attracted by the breathtaking views, come swimming in our springfed pond, but beware... don`t be fooled either: life can tough, demanding and muddy in the mountains too :-).
C ya soon!
