We are looking for helpers again from January 2020
Back to La Tierra is a soul driven project by Paul & Marina. At our home in Finca La Tierra in Mijas (Málaga, Spain) we bring together everything that constitutes wellbeing. Our orchard garden, where we are designing an edible forest according to permaculture principles, is a way to reconnect with nature mindfully and learn to observe and approach life through a different lens.
We offer our studio and apartment as accommodation via airbnb to guests looking to spend a green break and slow holiday throughout the year. We have been rated super hosts twice in a row, it is very important to us to find the perfect balance between giving our guests a feeling of privacy whilst being welcoming and informative.
We always need help developing our orchard garden, general maintenance, building garden walls, digging swales, painting, building soil etc. Projects will vary by the season. We are both involved on a daily basis but you may also need to work independently.
We offer you our cosy 70's caravan with a separate shower/bathroom. We will sometimes eat together but mostly we supply your shopping so you can prepare meals in the caravan. Wifi reception is in the garden under the mulberry tree :) We host a maximum of 2 hosts at a time so when we are not working you may spend time on your own. We normally agree to work from 9-2 from Monday to Friday. Stays can vary although we generally prefer 2-4 weeks. We request that your presence is discreet, in respect for our guests.
Our finca is located 30 mins walking from the coastal town of Fuengirola or mountain village of Mijas. From Fuengirola there are buses and trains to travel along the coast. We very much appreciate being close to everything but away from it all when we are at home. If you are looking for a rustic, village, inland, experience you may be disappointed by civilisation being quite close by.
About us: Paul (60) has a medical background but has chosen to dedicate himself to permaculture and portrait painting. Marina (52) has a varied international background and now runs Back to La Tierra. She teaches yoga and shares her insights into reconnecting body, mind and soul on all levels. We have lived in Southern Spain on and off since 1978. Our children, Tessa (20) and Sebastian (19) have both just finished school and are studying and traveling.
We have had very memorable experiences with all our helpers and we deeply believe in this way of sharing life views, insights and visions.
If what we are doing and how it sounds appeals to you it would be great to get in touch to see if we can agree on dates. Looking forward to it!
