Dear HelpX-ers,

First of all, we hope all of you reading this listing are safe and well during this pandemic and its aftermath.

Now that our farm’s most pressing overgrowth has been tackled, we would be interested in longer-term help to maintain the land clean.

Our beautiful family farm comprises nearly 1 hectare of arable land within the boundaries of the Peneda-Gerês National Park, in Northern Portugal, a place of truly stunning natural beauty. Great location by the EN-308-1. The property is a few minutes from the Caniçada dam and 2.5km from the historical spa village of Gerês.

This property is in an area of the valley with optimal year-round solar exposure (South facing, micro-climate), making it agriculturally highly desirable and providing really pleasant living conditions. However, as in most of Northern Portugal, it does rain a lot in Autumn and Winter!

If you are an energetic, nature-loving individual who would enjoy spending some time in a peaceful rural area of breath-taking natural beauty and historical richness, please get in touch with us. No doubt land clearing is hard work anywhere, but, putting our biases aside, this really is a special place worth the stay and experience!

We would like to hear from any reliable and experienced ‘HelpX-ers’ able to assist with land clearing and maintenance during the coming Autumn/Winter months in a caretaking capacity. We are looking to discuss longer-term arrangements with serious people, with verifiable references, who would be interested in acting as land/farm guardians (potentially whilst developing their own compatible activities). We are also open to exploring innovative, sustainable ideas for land use.

If this sounds like something you would like to do, we look forward to hearing from you! Thanks!
