We are a small team who collectively own and work a 32 acre mixed farm in Worcestershire. We aspire to a model of agriculture which is ecologically, economically and socially regenerative using profitable, soil building enterprises. We are primarily market gardeners, selling high quality organic vegetables from our 1acre no-dig market garden directly to consumers through our vegbox deliveries or wholesale to retailers, restaurants & distributors. Along side the market gardening we use holistic planned grazing to regenerate our pastures with sheep & pigs, and are undertaking an extensive & diverse agroforestry project throughout the farm over the next few years. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in producing food professionally and have a strong work ethic. In exchange for your labour we will provide food, comfortable accommodation, structured education and for those willing to commit for longer periods a financial allowance. We have 30 years experience growing organically and we're one of only a handful of farms in the UK making a profitable living from agroecological mixed farming. We work hard and live well, and invite you to join us.

Our statement of purpose:

'Oxtons primary purpose is to support ecological integrity & social cohesion through the practice of regenerative agriculture, permaculture & organic horticulture, whilst simultaneously providing rewarding livelihoods for land workers & their families. Secondarily, we endeavour to enrich our community through the provision of nutritionally dense seasonal food & providing a space which is richly informative & facilitates deepening relationships between human & non-human life. '

How we farm:
We use 3 guiding ecological principles as code of conduct for our farm enterprises, these are patterns we see as integral to ecosystem function.
1. Build Soil - All healthy ecosystems build soil, so our farming should to.
2. Build & Support Biodiversity - Ecological and economic resilience is dependent on biodiversity.
3. Support Ecological Succession - Using and valuing perennial plants where ever possible.

We are opening the farm to people looking to experience working life on a working farm. This may look different from month to month, season to season as our jobs are constantly changing, but always means doing what needs when it needs doing. We only ask people to commit to 6 hours a day 5 days a week in exchange for bed and board, but the reality of working in farming often means long days and we invite people who are seriously considering a living in regenerative agriculture to use this as an opportunity to test if this is really what they want to do. There is no substitution for experience when starting out in agriculture, what we offer to volunteers is a chance to gain experience on our farm, which could save you timely and expensive mistakes in the future. We also offer educational materials and structured learning support for people taking an active approach to learning. For people willing to commit a longer period we could treat this as an internship, and depending on capability and experience we may decide to make a weekly financial allowance available.

Beyond work our farm allows us a uniquely high standard of living, with good health, food better than any in the shops, and a deep connection with the living world. We hope you can share it with us.
