About Our Farm
We are licensed Grade A raw milk dairy and family farm located near Eatonville, Washington, in the foothills of Mount Rainier. Our 25-acre farm consists of about a hundred goats Our goats are kidding year around so we are continuously involved in the milking process. We also raise chickens for meat and eggs, pigs for meat, ducks for eggs and many farm dogs and cats. During the growing season we plant a variety of produce in a quarter acre raised bed garden. We have many opportunities to learn and work at Left Foot Farm. Please see a description of our internship below.

Farm Internship

Our interns are involved in all aspects of our farm. They will learn and practice the basics of goat husbandry, including feeding and bottle-feeding kids, mucking stalls, vaccinations and worming, hoof care, and general farm maintenance. In addition, interns will be a part of milking, processing, and selling our raw milk. This includes representing Left Foot at farmerís markets during the summer, farm-store sales, and milk deliveries. Interns will also be involved in basic feeding and care of all other animals at the farm.

Farm interns will also be involved in all aspects of our vegetable and herb garden during the growing season. We have 13 raised beds, 5 raised herb beds, a greenhouse, as well as strawberries and raspberries. Intern duties will include weeding, harvesting, watering, and compost maintenance.

We are seeking independent, hardworking individuals or couples. No previous experience is necessary, just an interest in farm life and respect for animals. We host helpers year round, and the duration of your stay can be negotiated. All applicants will need to go through a background check, as there are children on the farm. Interns are expected to work six hours a day, five days a week in return for room and board.

Lodging consists of small cabins where interns will either stay alone or with a roommate. All food is provided by the farm; interns will have unlimited access to fresh milk, eggs, meat and garden produce when accessible as well as store groceries. Farm dinners are held weekly. Shared bathrooms and a kitchen are located on the farm and the main house provides a shower. Wifi is available in all locations.

We recommend having your own transportation but it is not necessary. Mount Rainier National Park is 40 minutes by car, and Seattle, Tacoma, and Olympia are all about an hour away.
