Hello! We are experienced HelpX hosts! We have hosted people from all over USA / Asia / India and for the most part it has been great!!

CURRENTLY BOOKED THROUGH TO AUGUST 2020 - We can accept someone starting August 1st.

We have a very cool garden property right in the heart of Burlington about an hour and a half north of Seattle, Washington. We are located in the heart of the PNW; close to the Pacific Ocean, the mountains and so much spectacular hiking and climbing. This is a part of the world that is both gorgeous and full of adventure. If you like hiking/biking/mountains/wildlife/adventure there is plenty of that here.

Your Tiny House: You actually get your own building! See the pictures attached. There is a queen bed, meditation/reading loft, sitting area and small kitchenette (minimal cooking). The tiny house does not have its own bathroom!! Your bathroom is inside the big house where you have a rain shower and steam option if you want.

Within Walking Distance (less than 2km):
Maiben City Park (literally across the street)
The famous Train Wreck Bar and Eatery
RxR Pubhouse and Pizza
Noodle/Donut House that make their own ramen noodles, Old down town part of Fairhaven Burlington
Fantastic thrift store
Several Mexican restaurants
Post office
Shops and boutiques etc.

Arrangement: You get to have the cabin as your private space to live in and enjoy as well as a private bathroom in the big house. Our expectation is 15 hours a week per person of work around the property as an exchange for your rent/utilities. You need to be able to work unsupervised and provide a good quality of work. Often this work includes cleaning, gardening, helping build things or projects, etc. It really depends what time of year you are here, but there are always projects afoot.

You have the opportunity to get to know us as much or as little as you want. We have hosted people from around the world (my husband speak Russian and some Japanese).

Being in the heart of the PNW means that within an hour of our house (via car) you can be hiking in the North Cascades National Park/ Mount Baker Wilderness. Within an hour and a half you can be in Seattle downtown and there is a public bus that can take you there within walking distance from our house to Seattle city center and all the joys of that city. Within three hours you can cross to the east side and enjoy the quaint Barvarian town of Leavenworth. We have two ski lodges within about 2 hours drive; Mount Baker and Stevens. This is the PNW - a place of outdoor exploration and beauty. My husband and I are expert hikers and adventurers and would be happy to show you around this beautiful part of the world! Also, we are only about 40 mins from the Pacific Ocean and the stunning Deception Pass State Park. You can boat/kayak/canoe in the ocean here.

If you have questions or are interested in staying with us, please reach out!
