We are a family building a small farm and homestead in the wilds of the Rock Creek Valley, 25 km away from Dawson City, Yukon, within the Traditional Territory of the Trondk Hwchin. We live off grid, with our young child, three dogs and 50ish chickens. To reach our home we canoe across the historic Klondike River.

We grow a big garden for ourselves, grow/sell cut flowers, as well as herbs and medicinal plants for use in salves/balms/tinctures and tea for sale. We spend a lot of time outside, hiking, wild crafting as well as working on our farm. Our biggest project right now is developing infrastructure and building a shop. Along with work in the garden other possible projects in summer of 2019 may include- installing solar panels, building a solar dehydrator, building a grey water field, and building a sauna.

We are looking for help with: Our gardens (planting, weeding, watering, etc.), cooking, childcare, carpentry and manual labour. If you have any skills in any of these areas, or if youre just willing to try, wed love to talk with you!

Things we're willing to teach: wildcrafting/plant identification/harvesting, basic building (how we do things), screenprinting/printmaking, canoe instruction, chicken care.

Our home is in a remote area. Your accommodation would be a canvas wall tent, with your own outhouse, and spectacular views of the Ogilvie Mountains. Meals would mostly be in our home.

Due to our location, trips to town would need to be planned in advance to coordinate crossings by canoe- but we will make sure you can take advantage of what Dawson City has to offer.

Ideal helpers are: comfortable with kids and dogs, comfortable in a canoe, willing to learn, and willing to share any of their own skills with us!
