We are a family of 5 homesteading on St. Joseph Island in Northern Ontario.

St. Joseph island is located in the North Channel of Lake Huron very close to the Trans-Canada Highway and about an hour from Sault Ste Marie, ON. It is a very beautiful area with many sand beaches, rocky shorelines, mature hardwood forests and many small islands and bays. We have wonderful kayaking, canoeing, hiking, fishing and general outdoor activities in the area. St. Joe's has a wonderful and active community that hosts many great events.

We have a 10 acre homestead in the woods surrounded by crown land and forest. There is abundant wildlife and nature to explore. We are very close to the water and spend a lot of time on the lake and beaches in the summer and fall.
We are working on developing a permaculture homestead/food forest. We currently have a large veggie garden, small orchard, maple syrup production, dairy goats, chickens, pigs, turkeys, a dog and two cats. We'll be expecting our first goat kids this summer. :)
We have many projects planned, mostly around planting perennials, developing animal infrastructure and preserving food. We also have day to day animal and garden chores.
We homeschool our three boys (ages 8,5 and 2)
We would love help with projects, planting, gardening, animal care, household chores, kid stuff, etc...whatever way you can best participate.
We have a bedroom available in our home. Healthy organic whole food meals including our own animal products. Internet access. We spend lots of time in the community and the outdoors.

We'd love to hear from you. :)
