Calling all Farmhands! Creative Artists! Permaculture Enthusiasts! Nature Adventurers!

We run a very unique hobby farm 9km east of the town of Brookton in the Western Australian Wheatbelt, situated 1 hours drive east of the Perth hills. Our completely off-grid solar powered property is neighboured by a 320 hectare nature reserve which provides stunning sunrise and sunset bush walks allowing you to discover our beautiful Australian native wildlife, birdlife and in the Spring, the famous Wildflowers of Western Australia.

We are in the final months of establishing our property to host several classes and workshops to the public in the arts, permaculture and sustainable living, including forgotten skills.
We are looking for 1 or 2 energetic and lively people who would love to have the opportunity of working with us in reward for meals, accommodation and for creative play (including access and use of our art studio) together with being able to learn the old ways and growing food perhaps you may even teach us something too! We are open to negotiation for you to attend some of our workshops free of charge in exchange for your additional help or skills contribution to our farm.

The work that will be involved on our property includes: vegetable gardening and homesteading duties (including some light cooking and assisting in the preserving of fresh produce from time to time), looking after the chickens and other animals as we acquire these over time. If you have experience in using a chain saw, some light building, maintenance and fencing this would be an advantage but not essential. If you are an artist we would also provide options for you to paint large scale murals on fascias around the property during your work hours as we see this as a skill (we would like to see your portfolio first before we let you loose with a paintbrush or spray can!). Other periodic duties may include assisting with beekeeping and working on our hives, painting, organising material kits for classes and workshops.

Overall we think we are a pretty fun and social family and will provide you with plenty of laughs and the opportunity to work on your English communications if this is something that is of interest to you. We will also appreciate your request for time out and personal space and we just ask for open communication always and we will do the same with you. We frequent Perth at least once every 7-10 days so if you do not have a vehicle you could get a lift with us into the city if need be and spend a leisure day away from the farm.

Your accommodation would be our guest caravan which is comfortably decked out with several bedding options, so it can suit singles or couples. The kitchen, bathroom and living areas are shared with the hosts and we have some WIFI available but encourage you to have your own internet access - Telstra is the best out here.

If our farm and offer sounds like a space you would love to experience then get in touch with us. We know that our farm will become very popular in next to no time at all, so at this stage we are looking for initial 1 week stay, longer stays negotiable.

We look forward to hearing from you!
