**Join us now (May) to help build an underground cellar**

We live on a rural property 25mins drive from Lismore and about 1hr drive from Byron Bay. We eat a healthy vegetarian diet - with an abundance of organic veges from our large vege garden. We also trade food with a number of our friends so almost everything we eat is local and/or organic. All our shared meals are vegan.

We`ve built our own strawbale/mudbrick house, utilising passive solar design. We have a home based business making tempeh, turmeric tonic, sprouts and raw cakes to sell at local markets.

We`ve got two daughters, aged 5 and almost 2.

The work we do here varies quite a bit day to day, depending on whether we`re preparing for a market or doing construction, or something in the garden, so every day is different.

Accomodation is a room separate to our house with its own verandah and kitchenette. Our main meal of the day is lunch - it is a big, beautiful, delicious meal which we share with helpers. We give you food, including freshly baked bread, Tempeh, fruit and Veges and a huge range of dried foods to prepare your breakfast and dinner in the kitchenette.

We ask visitors to help out 4-5 hrs a day, with 1 day per week off. There are a number of beautiful national parks and beaches within 1-2hrs drive from our place.

WE LIVE ON A DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE COMMUNITY SO WE ASK HELPERS TO DO WITHOUT THESE THINGS WHILE STAYING WITH US. WE ONLY ACCEPT NON SMOKERS.

For more photos, see our facebook link above.

More about us:
Our house has a range of sustainable, experimental and relatively low cost features, including passive solar design, underground earth cooling tunnels (natural air conditioning), solar powered under-floor heating and cooling, an earth floor; and an economical use of space with lofts, and loft beds.
