Hello!

My name is Joao and I own the Peach Hostel in Porto, Portugal, recently opened in October 2018.

The HOSTEL:

This totally refurbished house has 3 floors, with reception and kitchen at entry level. In the first and second floors we have 5 suites and 2 dorms.

There is a lovely, quiet back garden which is dominated by a large peach tree, where you can relax, have a meal or a drink, and interact with our guests. It also needs a bit of gardening.

Our kitchen is fully equipped, so you can make your own meals there. We do not offer food, just accommodation, but normally there are plenty of leftovers that you can use, and you can share meals with guests sometimes.
We provide tea, coffee, and some basic cooking items.

YOUR ROOM:

We have 2 dorms for 8 people each, but during the pandemic we are only renting out 50% of the beds, unless it is a group of 5 to 8 people who come together.

One of the dorms is now assigned just for volunteers, 1 or 2 people, and occasionally there may be one or 2 guests in your dorm, if the other one is at full capacity.

We have been taking all necessary precautions with the Covid situation, and expect you to do the same.

Luckily we have plenty of space in the kitchen and especially in the garden, so we can easily mantain distance and masks are not mandatory.

The dorm we offer for the helpers has air conditioning, and plenty of space in lockers for your bags and clothes. The beds have curtains and reading lights.

Location:

Very conveniently located, right next to the Campanhã Metro and Train Stations, we offer clean and comfortable accommodation, a well equipped kitchen and a wonderful little back garden.

From the metro and train stations just across the street, you can find easy access to all parts of town, as well as nearby beaches and the airport, for example.

Your job:

We are always looking to host dynamic, responsible people who want to help out in exchange for their stay.

Work includes: performing check-ins, general cleaning duties and helping out guests with tips about the house, the neighborhood and the city.

You will be expected to work around 3 or 4 hours per day,5 or 6 days per week, in a flexible schedule. Flexibility is very important, as check in times vary a lot, and I can easily give you some days off in exchange for more daily hours, for ex. It all depends on how busy we are.

You will be provided (if necessary)a tablet to work, so we can stay in touch all the time and manage check-ins efficiently.

There is plenty of opportunity to go out and get to know Porto. I will be happy to give you tips and free time to do that.

The cleaning lady comes in every morning and takes care of the rooms. So your cleaning duties are really just to mantain the common areas clean during the day/afternoon/evening. You may have to clean and prepare a room or 2 in the afternoon, if there are late check-outs.

WE HAVE VACANCIES RIGHT NOW!

We are looking for volunteers who want to come in the Summer/Autumn 2020 onwards, and ideally stay for at least 3 or 4 weeks. Send us a message or an email if you are interested.
The Hostel has a great vibe, I am sure you will love it here.

If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask.

See you soon in Porto!
