We require some help with exercising our horses and grooming amongst some of the most amazing scenery at the St James Station, Hanmer Springs, New Zealand.

We are situated 15 minutes drive from one of New Zealand's most popular tourist destinations Hanmer Springs. Here they have beautiful hot pools and an amazing town at which you can explore. We are also located very close to the city Christchurch. Our business runs from the bottom of Hanmer Springs Ski Field. If you are adventurous and love the outdoors this location would be ideal!

We would like to hear from you if you are horse lovers! This is ideally suited to a couple or one-two people that enjoy working with horses and are competent riders. This will give you the opportunity to explore a most beautiful area of New Zealand. This will enable you to learn a part of the colonial and maori history within this region. You will be provided with a multitude of opportunities while being steward’s to a wilderness area of immense natural beauty, much of which is in pristine condition. You will gain knowledge regarding our environment and natural habitat. You will develop leadership skills in an outdoor setting that teaches management skills which will help you to understand, respect and enjoy the natural environment. Things such as problem solving, leadership, wilderness literacy and recreational land use. This exchange will help you to develop your sense of responsibility, appreciation of independent thought, respect for others, a spirit of collaboration, awareness of our environmental and cultural connections and a commitment to preserving this as a lifelong service and learning. You will gain horsemanship experience, groom horses, saddle them up correctly amongst many other needs required in preparation for this experience.

We will provide accommodation with meals. You will require your own vehicle.

You must be willing to do some work, be polite, respectful, tidy, drug free and non smoking.

We look forward to you coming to stay!
