we look forward to developing a self sufficient eco friendly lifestyle conservation project, eventually creating a healing space where we can hold workshops, meditation, indigenous spiritual events do healing, work with nature developing both vegetable and animal organic farming. Right now its mainly development work and interacting with natural environment. We hosted a "Rainbow Gathering" for 6 weeks over january 2015. Feeding 150 people on January full moon with a total of 400 people coming through from 30 countries. And a furter Rainbow Gathering January 2017. The farm and accommodation is on the coast right beside the sea mostly native bush/forest with access to sea coast and nearby beaches and a further 600ha bushland and coast. These are traditional lands maori owned by our family continuously for about 650 years. History of our people and visits to significant historic sites included in learning while on site on request. Tasks offered helpers are mainly outdoors except a small amount inside maintenance. Clearing wild ginger using techniques giving longer term elimination without sprays or chemicals part of development requirement for future harvest as a crop for a natural medicine cancer cure (breast and lung cancer research already established). We are to develop herb gardens in addition to vegetables and orchards maintenance. Mechanics for equipment repairs and maintenance very welcome (we have tools). We service possum traps but no poisons. We can't offer childcare or housekeeping duties (other than keeping your private accommodation or cabin clean and tidy). Sundowners, people who want to come and view the scenery and stay one night or two, need to look elsewhere or find a motel. You will normally be offered a wine or a beer the day you arrive, but if you regularly drink, please bring your own alcohol. No smoking inside buildings. We neither grow nor supply weed/marijuana. Fishing/diving can be good but please bring your own gear. We gather Kina - but no Paua (none legal size) and all fish must be legal size or you throw them back alive! Internet buffs - opportunity to develop websites and to sell our stocks of books - fiction, non-fiction - and other stuff on Trademe to raise funds.
