NOTE: We have no vacancies until June 2020.

We are a 20 acre homestead focused on pollinator habitat and applying permaculture principals in the oak savannah of Southern Oregon. I am a farm educator, chef and baker and my husband is a dj, radio host and gardener.
We are close to wilderness areas and a game migration route, so value non-farm creatures but also have have dogs, goats, llamas and chickens and grow herbs, seeds, flowers and vegetables.
We are teaching ourselves ancient growing methods so really appreciate guests with permaculture experience! We plan to build a new garden and water capture system at various points over the next year. Communal camp facilities and a pond are in the works too.
We have an old trailer that we would like help with gutting and refurbishing for future accomodation.
We offer boarding and meals in exchange for farm labour and house-sitting. Farm labour is typically about 4 hours a day, with flexible hours. We offer modest compensation for dog-sitting and some rigorous farm jobs. Labour might include weeding, weed-whacking, pruning, feeding animals, mucking out barns, firewood chopping and general maintenance.
We have a warm comfortable house with ac (summers here are roasting hot) in-house guest room, a spare bed in the lounge and there is plenty of camping space and hook-ups for RV electricity and water.
We are a vegetarian household but you can bring meat to prepare if you need.
We are a stone's throw from Crater Lake national park and Rogue-Siskiyou forests and there are hiking trails and swimming holes close by; if you love the outdoors you will be in heaven. Most guests describe us as a kind of sanctuary. We have a dedicated music and radio room and! especially reggae and world music. We also love to read, watch movies, cook, eat and yarn.
Thank you for considering staying with us!
