After 5 years on the road across 5 different continents, Julien and I have finally settled some roots on the frontier between Brittany and Normandy. Julien is a carpenter, sound engineer and musician from Normandy. I am a nurse, naturopath, massage therapist, dancer and hula-hoop artist from Australia.

Together we are embarking on an epic barn restoration, in the hopes of creating a community living and creative space. The barnhouse was built in the late 1800's and has been uninhabited for the last 30 years. There are a variety of construction and renovation works to be done. We are restoring the barn using traditional artisanal techniques with natural or recycled materials. Looking for handymen or handywomen to help out with construction and renovation all year. Skills in stonemasonry, carpentry and roofing highly sought. We are also hoping to convert an old stable into an artistic studio, for musicians, dancers, circus performers to come and be inspired by nature in their creative development.

From spring to autumn, we are also looking for green thumbs to help us in establishing our permaculture farm. From the farm, we hope to nourish all on our land and beyond. This means that all produce will first provide to the community living on the land, then to the markets. It also means that our farm will have a mix of fruit trees and shrubs, perennial and annual vegetables, mushrooms and medicinal plants. Being vegetarians, we have a farm to table philosophy. But we don't mind if you eat meat. Just please be respectful of the choices of others around you.

You will be camping on-site, with access to our outdoor kitchen, shower and composting toilet facilities. Meals will be provided on volunteer days. No minimum volunteer hours per week. Stay as long as you feel. Give what you can.

We are located in the French countryside, about 4kms from the closest village and 1 hour drive to the closest city / airport (Rennes). Plenty of tourist sites around, from Mont-Saint-Michel to Saint Malo, and Fougeres, Rennes and the forest of Broceliande to the south.
