Hello there! My Husband and I are looking for some help in building a tiny house. We are being featured on a show called living off the grid and have started filming the build, but we need some more help.
- We are building a prefab straw bale tiny house
- we will use prefabricated straw bale panels using Ecococons building technology. This structure will embody all aspects to be passive and carbon negative house. Wood fiber insulation, local wood, passive solar, heating pump, solar panels, and so much more!
-Peter has been building for 15 years. He has travelled the world teaching different workshops in earth bag construction, straw bale building, timber framing and has experience with almost every natural building technique. He has recently gotten certification to build passive and net zero houses.
please check out his website link above.
-this project is at our home in upstate NY in Greene county 30 min to Hudson and 40 minutes to Albany
-We will begin this project mid September and we will need help until mid November, so around 8 weeks we would need some help
-We are looking for 2 more volunteers with SKILLS, we are looking for people that are serious about adding this technique to their repertoire, this is not a workshop, but more of an apprenticeship for the right person to gain some pretty awesome knowledge, It would be good if you could stay the entire time.
-We have a camper for volunteers to stay in with a fully functional kitchen, composting toilet and outdoor shower. We also have an art studio with a sleeping loft and kitchen set up for extra volunteers.
-We have pretty extensive gardens with lots of food to feed people. We will provide basic pantry items and veggies from the garden. We are vegetarian and dont drink, but if you would like meat or beer, there is a store 5 minutes away with everything you could need.We will cook dinner and eat together but you will make your own breakfast and lunch( sometimes I will make lunch and we can eat together)
