We're looking for hostal volunteers to join our little casa in Guadalajara :)

Our little hostal is known as a casa for a reason: wherever you're coming from, wherever you're going next, you'll feel right at home here. We're known for our friendly atmosphere, our chill vibe and our relaxed pace. Located right in the heart of Guadalajara, we're a small hostal of 12 beds in a traditional Victorian house. Between our hostal puppy Nube, our giant rooftop and our mix of long-term young Mexican tenants and short-term backpakers from all around the world, our hostal is the perfect base to explore what Guadalajara has to offer. So whether you want to learn Spanish, immerse yourself in Mexican culture, practice your English, or make international friends and get inspired by their life experiences, we have it all here.

We're located in Americana, the oldest and safest neighborhood of Guadalajara, and one of the most beautiful, full of big Victorian houses like ours. Walk 10 minutes to the East, you're at the cathedral and the city center. Walk 10 minutes to the West, you're at Chapultepec, the heart of the city's nightlife. Additionally, we plan a lot of day trips and events around the city and the state. So if you want to discover the village of Tequila, the lucha libre, Mexican rodeo and much more, you're at the right place.

We offer a private room with 2 bunk beds (double and single) hosting up to two volunteers. Free drinking water, free coffee, free cooking seasonings (oil, spices, sauces...) and fully equipped kitchen, fridges, and utensils.
Other food is not included, but we often cook communal meals and asadas (mexican bbq). Washing machine and washing powder included though!

The work is pretty simple really, and depends on your skills. The main tasks are to make the beds (we only have twelve beds total, so it's usually like 3 beds per day), water the plants, do and hang up the laundry and clean the bathroom and living room in the morning. The tasks are split between the 2/3 volunteers we have, so it's usually pretty relaxed. We ask for 2 hours of work per day, 6 days a week.
Our cleaning lady Mary Chui comes three times a week, so on those days, you can either relax or do some side project, like murals or some handy work (build furniture, repair some tiles, paint...).
Being sociable and like to hang out with guests or do group activities is a plus, but not required.

Looking forward to welcome you as a part of our familia!
