Hi there, my name is Mika and I live in Samaipata in the Bolivian mountains near Santa Cruz de la Sierra. I am a well traveled German/Finnish motorcyclist, that has decided to live in Samaipata. I bought an older cabana and I have some land around it about five blocks from the village center. As here is always something to do, you are more than welcome. You can stay in a separate room with a shared bathroom. I have often biker friends and couchsurfers staying for a few days, but I need somebody that will stay longer ( a minimum of three weeks) and help with things on the house and the garden for 5 hours a day. Painting, gardening, planting, cooking, basic construction work, helping with the design of the new kitchen. Feel free to contact me over this website. See you here mika

Update 10/2019: Looking for you in the end of November, maybe even over New Year, for the construction of a workshop, and some roofs out of bamboo. Pls contact me with your plans and ideas.

Our project's goal is to work together, constructing an alternative way of life, different from that of our current consumerist society. We strive to create a more harmonious relationship with our environment, working the land in an organic way, rearing animals as naturally as possible, recycling and reusing, looking for new modern and healthy technologies that we can adapt to the field.
To finance our project we host guests as a kind of rural tourism, tourists with who we share some of our activities. We also plan to implement an alternative education program for children.
To make real that dream we need people to help us to do it. People with knowledge about bio-construction, permaculture, renewable energies, organic agriculture, carpentry, and cooking. Also, we are just looking for people with similar wishes, who want to teach and to learn how to live in a more healthy and sustainable way.

We offer an independent room (single, twin or double). We also have a camping area nea... more inside

I am a sixty-six year old woman who lives alone with 2 dogs. Since 6 years I’m living in a house on a land of 1/2 hectare. I have a small vegetable garden, papayas, chirimoyas, maracuyas and acerolas. The house is finished, but some little things like painting, repairing or improving things always need to be done. So any handiness in that is always welcome, too.

The things I grow, I go and sell from house to house by bicycle in the village . Besides some vegetables and fruits, in the afternoon I also sell yoghurt, ice-cream,marmelades and cakes that I make myself.

Every Thursday afternoon, there is a ‘Rincon de lectura’ (Mini library) I’ve been able to gather a small library and educational board games. During the Rincon I’ll read stories to the children (age 6-12), teach them some basic English and play games with them. The children can borrow books to take home. Volunteers who are motivated to help here are very welcome.

I’m looking for volunteers that would help aro... more inside

Ours is a small property of around 2 has extension of arable land, at the moment the largest part is used for animal forages (mainly corn and alfalfa). In a smaller part, we are implementing organic vegetables, herbs and other crops. Some years ago we established a fruit orchard (apples and peaches), which we are currently trying to diversify. We hope this can be our main activity in the future. We also built two small
greenhouses where we plant mainly tomatoes and lettuce, also diversifying now.
There are a lot of problems to solve, mainly insects and birds' attacks, too much sun and water shortage. We are working on solutions one by one (nets, barriers, shadow plants, water reservoirs).
All kind of help is welcome, although we need mostly people with some experience in growing organic products on a small scale, establishing irrigation systems that save water, fighting pests with natural methods that won't damage the environment. Persons with little or no experience are welcome ... more inside

Help us to make this place green again!

Green. We want it to be green again! This is an experimental agroecological farm located within the semiarid valleys of Cochabamba. In the last two decades volunteers, researchers, farmers and students have been meeting in this unique place to learn and exchange experiences about agroecology. In that way, the 16 hectares that form this place recovered their ecological value thanks to the application of agroforestry systems coupled with agroecological measures.

We proved here that it is possible to produce fruits and vegetables without needing agrochemicals, simply applying the ancestral knowledge about sustainable agriculture that agroecology is providing us with. This technique has proven to be able to improve the productivity of the land and at the same time being ecologically sustainable. This place has therefore contributed not only to recover soils and biodiversity at the semiarid valleys of Cochabamba, but also to promote food an... more inside

it's a little house with a garden into the city of Tarija. Here I do some organic growing like basil and arugula, and also artisan food products (mostly my version of artisan italian liquour Limoncello and others like my version of pesto).

Volunteers must bring a tent, I offer room under the ceiling, and bathroom and kitchen (for volunteers to cook), I am not offering lunch or dinner but I offer bread and things for breakfast, the vestibles of the garden and only half work in the mornings doing all kind of work in the garden and the lab or artisan foodproducts, so they can take the afternoon to walk the city or visit the country. I'd ratter to receive one person, the more 2 because of my economy and I offer them to stay from 2 weeks to a month (this year is better for me to have long term volunteers).
