The aim of our organisation is to support long-term food security for people living in southeast Haiti. We do this by planting indigenous food-bearing trees in partnership with the local population. Our four acre campus includes a fully shaded nursery containing 25,000 trees, one large and two small dormitories for volunteers, a training hall, a kitchen, and a small solar power system.

We are happy to welcome volunteers here any time of the year and always have space available!

The minimum stay asked of volunteers is 2 weeks, although we strongly suggest staying longer in order to enhance your experience of supporting the local community and participating in sustainable living.
Project tasks occur during seva (selfless service) times, which run from sunrise to breakfast and from breakfast to lunch, Monday through Friday. In addition to working in the forest and the tree nursery, volunteers also serve inside the campus, maintaining the facilities, cleaning, organizing, cooking... more inside

We share our home with the school, which currently has six classrooms, for the six classes who currently attend the school.
As we were living and working here before we started the school, we saw how many children did not have the possibility to attend school, and this made us decide we wanted to help the children of our country and invest in our future in this way, to help us all move forward together. That is what has brought us to where we are today, and so far, so good! We are now only looking forward to growing more together, even sharing it with a more international community.

We are a school for children between the ages 3-12 years old, operating from a small compound in Cap-Haitien, in the north of Haiti.

What we look for in terms of volunteers, are people who can help us with teaching and language practice with the children, primarily English and French... more inside
