We are a easy going couple in our thirties who have a 16 acre farm that we brought nearly five years ago. As we now have a 3 year old gorgeous wee girl and my partner works long hours in his family business we could really do with some help on the farm to continue building our dream.
A friend of ours also lives here in his shack and is currently building a tiny house for himself on the property. Another of our friends lives here in his bus.
We also have a couple of caravans and some cabins onsite.
We started on our property with only a caravan and a bare block. We now have built a shack around our caravan and have some other infrastructure in place like large chook coups, gardens, compost toilet and compost bins, dirt bike track, woodshed, yards and more.
We have currently built some new cabins for us to live in and our shack we used to live in is now a self contained helper quarters, with kitchen, pool table, dart board and tv.
We could do with a hand with painting and ... more inside

Waipu Caves Lodge and "the Universitree" are to be established as a supportive refuge for self discovery and healing through a deep connection with nature.

Set amongst the majestic limestone formations and sacred underground passageways of Waipu Caves, the property rests on 14 hectares of native bush and pasture. The huge limestone cave system covers some four square kilometres and is home to millions of glow worms adorning the cavernous ceilings and freshwater koura in the chilly pools below.

A retreat centre, an arboretum and an outdoor experiential learning centre are to be established on the site. The Lodge will be home to ‘The Universitree’, a place where people will come as "disciples" of the trees in order to understand themselves and enter into a multidimensional and reciprocal learning process.

Our project is just beginning. Right now there is nothing on the land except the trees, the grass and the birds. This summer we will start making our dream a reality - and w... more inside

We have a holiday home at Waipu and have a big garden to maintain. We are looking for help in the garden for a few days - weeding, trimming etc in return for 2 meals per day and accommodation. Tools provided.
We are located walking distance to Waipu village, are close to the estuary and have lovely views. Bream Bay is a stunning beach to walk on and there are other places of interest nearby to explore.
A car would be preferable for getting here and to access the local sites.
We are looking for a couple to come for 3-4 days sometime late October. We have a comfortable and private loft area above the garage with own toilet downstairs. The main bathroom is inside the house.
We have a friendly dog Sophie who will be keen to make friends with you.
We look forward to hearing from you.
