Update:
Hello helpx friends! Currently we are needing couples or 2 friends travelling together to stay for a week or more.

Much of the help needed is involved in maintaining the orchards and harvesting fruit. We have free access to the internet for emailing, browsing and telephony. Accommodation for guests is in small cabins.

Our farm is quite close to Auckland but is not on a direct bus route so we usually pick people up from Silverdale. Many helpers stay with us as a base to start their travels in New Zealand and return at the end if they are flying out again through Auckland.

Regards Jo and Hal

About us:

We live on a small 5 acre lifestyle block, 48 km South of Auckland CBD, that we share with a Bengal cat (Head of Pest Control), a Sydney Silkie dog (Head of Security), one horse, five hens (egg machines) and a rooster!

We don`t have children living at home so the help needed is mainly outdoors. With the help of some fabulous helpx helpers we have established the kitchen gardens and we`re now working on general gardens and landscaping so help with this would be greatly appreciated. Help is also needed with all the other tasks that need doing on a lifestyle block such as lawn mowing, planting, mulching, grubbing thistles, paddock weeds and brush-cutting (strimming/weed-eating).

We can only host helpers for short stays of up to a week, and would prefer mature, practical-minded people with a few years life experience, that can work independently. None of the jobs are difficult but do require a reasonable level of fitness. Non-smokers only please.

A very comfo... more inside

**Would like a couple, late December to early January, plan to make hay, less than 100 bales but would like help putting it away. It is weather dependant so hopefully during that time it will happen! Usual other jobs as we wait for good days.**

We live on a 10 acre lifestyle property with various animals, both pets (dogs and cats) and chickens. At times we also raise calves and pigs. We are developing our orchards, so far Feijoas, Apples, Hazelnuts. Other fruits around the house orchard and still planting. We also have bee hives, in case anyone has bee allergies.

Mainly outdoor work, weeding, mulching, planting. Helping a bit around the animals, cleaning out, etc. We have a vegetable garden and don't use harmful sprays. Sometimes Housework, cleaning, sanding, etc. We are renovating our house, an old villa and also the cottage we use for Homestay.
We offer accommodation and meals (main meal evening) for 4-5 hours work per day, flexible as to how it works out, can be 8 hours on... more inside

Our property is about an hour's drive from Auckland airport with spectacular sea views on Awhitu peninsula: a 20 minute walk to west coast beaches and ten minute drive to half a dozen harbour beaches. We run an all grass cattle operation. This year we have 500+ beef bulls, three working dogs and a few sheep.

We ask a minimum of four hours work each day. There is always lots to do here. At the moment we are wanting ENERGETIC SELF-MOTIVATED people. Our highest priority at the moment is wood splitting, gardening, household cleaning, painting and some farm work.

There are four of us living on the farm. Joy (my partner) and myself, and my two children - Charlie 12 years, and Ella 11 years stay with us for weekends and school holidays. We are a busy, creative household, music playing and lots of projects on the boil.

Accommodation is separate from the house and shared guest bathroom in the main house. Evening meals are shared, breakfast and lunch self-help (plenty of ... more inside

We live in a small town called Waiwera approx 40 minutes north of Auckland CBD. Our house here opens onto the beach and has a thermal hot pool we use all year round. We also have some land about 20 minutes from Waiwera we are currently landscaping and building on. We have a couple of small dogs and look for HelpX folk who love animals and being outdoors to help us with weeding, landscaping and general chores as we develop the new property while living by the beach. Females preferred who will be working alongside Robyn most of the time. We only have enough work for short stays 3 to 4 days.

Hello, we are a Kiwi-Catalan couple in our 40s, living near the centre of Auckland with a really big garden that is too much for us to handle on our own. We have hosted hundreds of Couchsurfers over the years and love the cultural exchange that it brings. So, every summer we reach out through HelpX to find people to come and help us with the garden, share stories over yummy vegetrian food, and learn more about the world we live in.

We are currently looking for someone to help us in December with one/some of the following projects:
- Weeding the garden
- Building a raised vegetable garden with bricks*
- Washing interior walls to prepare for painting
- Painting*
- Building shelves

*experience preferred

Who are we?
- Angela (41), from Auckland, full-time student and part-time tutor. Into food, music, attracting native bird life and gardening.
- Gerard (45), from Barcelona, Computer Wizz. Into fitness, cycling, technology and popcorn.
- Rufus the cat (10), from Barce... more inside
