**During this period of Coronavirus lockdown we are not hosting helpers**

We are two families sharing a beautiful piece of land in the Kauaeranga Valley 10 minutes drive from Thames, with stunning swimming holes nearby, and native bush walks and DOC camping 15 minutes further up the road. We are completely off-grid on solar power and we aim to grow quite a lot of our own food, following organic principles.

The land has been developed into a large mixed fruit orchard, newly planted olive grove, vegetable gardens, woodlots and paddocks - and the development is ongoing! It is also home to our three cows, including our milking mama cow, Stella, a dozen chickens and small dog, Kip. For most of the year we are self-sufficient for milk, fruit and vegetables, and eat our own organic beef through the year.

We are looking for people to come and work and live alongside us, in a variety of ways depending on the season and your skills. Work might include: vege garden management, fruit t... more inside

I am a retired medical herbalist growing plants for medicine, 3 km north of Coromandel town, near Driving Creek Cafe; we have medicinal herbs growing all around the farm. The work is mostly farm work looking after chickens, collecting chicken poo for the gardens, preparing garden beds for herbs, digging out wild ginger and privet along the Whangarahi River, mowing the grass, and mulching fruit and nut trees. On rainy days we clean the house, or strain out herbal tinctures. Minimum stay 10 days.

We work 2 hours a day, 1 day a week time off. This is work in return for accomodation, you provide your own food, (there is a communal kitchen/caravan for cooking) and you can go offsite to neighbouring hosts for food. ie.one meal each day, eg. 2 hours work for Alison in return for dinner; Showers and laundry provided at Naomi`s house, there is a bicycle available to get to town, 3km away.

Please email and let me know when you`re available, age and nationality, and what ... more inside

I offer a majestic view and three meals per day including home made bread, pesto and muesliv; with soup, fish and chips, roast chook, "stu"shimi and pizza burgers etc for dinner.

In exchange I ask for 3hrs per day (mornings). You do not need to help out on the day of your arrival or the day you leave (except to make the bed etc).

Behind my place is the mighty Coromandel Range so you can go walkies up the creek into the bush. Maybe use windsurfer boards as kayaks and just paddle around. Possibly cycle 4km to Waiomu and walk 1hr to the Kauri Grove. Or, try to catch something from the beach: maybe a massive stingray! Or just chill with the view.

At present jobs include: cleaning and domestics; painting preparation including timber repairs, filling and painting; chainsawing; gardening; etc.

Hello Everyone :)

URGENT! Due to the COVID-19 Virus we are not accepting new HelpExchange people. Our current Helpers are having to remain here with us for the duration of the lockdown. We will update when we have more information. Thanks and stay safe and keep your distance from others.

We live in Hahei on the beautiful East Coast of the Coromandel Peninsula, where white-sand beaches and stunning scenery are part of daily life. The Help Exchange is mostly cleaning, gardening, and doing general jobs around the place. Hahei is stunning at any time of the year and you can easily lose a month or two if you're not careful :)
Hahei is pretty remote so having your own vehicle is a good thing.
We need TWO helpers who are travelling together as you will share the space you sleep/live in.
Your accommodation is a self-contained room, with own shower and toilet, TV, Fridge, microwave, little oven, hot plates , etc and we provide all your food, Wifi, laundry, pick ups and drop of... more inside

Hi there, I live on a small property close to town, with a stream, subtropicals and some veg and flower gardens.

I also run tourist accommodation that is self contained, but always requires work, some cleaning and gardening.

I work as an artist, making pots, felting and dyeing.

The house is new so there is lots of work to do establishing the garden and generally getting sorted.

I would like help with all or any of these things.
I particularly value people who love gardening and being outside. One person is ideal for me.

I have a small single bedroom for helpers, or possibly the guest bedroom if there are no guests.

We are a restaurant situated in Cooks beach. We are happy to host helpers in return for support in the kitchen and around the house. It great to meet chefs and talented cooks from around the world and exchange skills and ideas.

Help out for average 4 - 5 hours a day for food (occasional beer and wine) and quality accommodation above the restaurant. We prefer a minimum two week stay.

We will have space for two people from the 26th March 2020
