Hi, we are based in Waitetuna, 15 minutes drive from Raglan (the home of great surfing, coffee, arts and music) and 20 minutes to Hamilton, on a 12ha (30acre) lifestyle block.

We have dogs, cats, horses, chickens and cattle. We are also parents to two boys(aged 10 and 8).

We are a busy family...and so are after someone who can help with house cleaning, cooking, gardening and building....

We have a spacious room available, can accommodate a couple.

Ideally have own transportation to see the sights Raglan has to offer.. however this is not essential as there is a bus stop nearby.

We don't cater for any special dietary requirements sorry...

We look forward to hearing from you.

Hi!

My house is a converted barn, 5 minutes from Matamata. Matamata is less than 2 hours drive from or to Auckland Airport, so a good place to stay on your way in or out of NZ. My place is also within easy reach of many outdoor activities and places of interest (see below).

ABOUT ME: I'm a yoga and performing arts teacher who has travelled in Europe, the USA and India. Also I've lived and travelled all over NZ, so I'm happy to help you with travel tips for your time here!

ABOUT YOU: Solo traveller or a couple. Vegetarian/mostly vegetarian - or willing to be for the time staying here ('mostly vegetarian' means fish, seafood and chicken are ok!). You'll need to have your own transport to get out and explore the area.

THE ACCOMMODATION: Room in the house with double bed. The house has a big open plan lounge and modern kitchen. There's an organic orchard with ducks and vege garden. And two cats.

THE WORK: 2 hours a day, flexible. Could be weeding, cleaning, painting ... more inside

Full for Xmas week sorry!

Couples or Females only please (sorry boys! But my partner often travels for work, so I'm home alone).

My German partner and I (a kiwi) would love to share our beautiful 1903 home, (NZ classic architecture of this time), with some willing helpers.

We are a couple in our 40s with no children and enjoy socialising. So far our guests have loved coming and staying here.

There's a little but not too much to see and do around Hamilton - Therefore we recommend a say of a week or two at most, dependent on how much time you have in NZ.

We try and have a healthily lifestyle, we have free range chicken, geese, vegi gardens, fruit.

We don't have any children at home but we do have a beautiful pet peacock for entertainment. Sorry but the horses in the photo aren't here anymore. We now have two steers, sheep, lambs, rabbits, pigs and birds.

Our spare room has 1 double bed, it's a very beautiful room and is next to the family bathroom. W... more inside

Hi. We live in Pukekawa, which is close to Pukekohe and to south Auckland. Our property has beautiful trees and gardens on it. We came here 18 months ago and are still in the process of making changes to our surroundings. There are 2 houses on the property .. our daughter and her 2 young children live in one, and we live in the other. There is a large old shed which we tidied up and lived in while the 2nd house was being built. That will be your bedroom, but you will use our bathroom facilities .. just across the verandah.
We grow many of our own vegetables in our two vegetable gardens. And we have a beehive for our honey supplies.
We would like your help with, maybe, some building work, window cleaning, and maybe some painting. Nothing too hard. And not every day is work, .. you will have days to go and explore. The nearest beach is approx 30 minutes away, and is good for surfing. Central Auckland in 1 hour away, depending on motorway traffic. And Hamilton is 1 hour away too... more inside

Helper needed urgently from 11th Dec, must have international license.

We live on a 20 arce lifestyle property in rural North Waikato. It is a small but busy property. My partner and I have 3 children, 1 girl aged 14 (currently away at school) and 2 boys aged 12 and 10. We raise beef cattle and have a number of horses and ponies. In the summer we make hay ourselves on the property. I also run a business from home which I produce and sell chutneys and sauces. I work away from home locally 3-4 days a week (usually during school hours). We ride horses and ponies and the boys ride motorbikes. I give riding lessons and we have an arena and also access to large areas of farmland for riding over. At times we travel to competitions. You will have the opportunity to be involved in our family activities and watch the children`s sports. The work we require is varied but does involve looking after animals incl. Horses, dogs, cats and chickens. There is always housework to do an... more inside

Kia Ora :)

We are a family of 5 people - 3 kids (12, 10 and 5.) We have two dogs, a couple of ducks and a bunch of chickens.

We run a small flower farm and floristry business from home (Raglan Buds Flower Farm) and live walking distance to the beach! It's 4 mins drive from town and close to lots of nice bush walks and good surf.

The work is usually varied depending on your strengths or what is needed. Most likely gardening, mulching, weeding, digging...but could also be building, painting, cleaning, helping in the floristry studio etc)

Accomodation is separate to the house, in either a giant cosy tipi or converted shipping container. We also provide 3 meals a day in exchange for 4 hours good work.

Please get in touch if you are interested.

Nga mihi,
Jenny and Joe

HI there
we live by the beautiful surf breaks of Whale and Manu Bay, 5 mins walk to the surf. Our property backs onto the bush reserve of Karioi Mountain, from our backdoor you can access bush tracks that will take you to the top of Raglans extinct volcano, and offer a view up the North Island coastline.

Our property is a backyard sustainable oasis based on permaculture principles. We have gardens, fruit trees, chickens and ducks. We raise seedlings, make compost, plant gardens, dry herbs, preserve food, care for our animals and enjoy nature at our backdoor. We are vegetarian and eat whole unprocessed food.
Our three children are home schooled and enjoy surfing, skating, horse riding, mountain biking and snow boarding (lucky them eh!)

Tasks at this time are based on the garden, helping around the home and caring for our animals. It's time for planting, mulching and weeding. Also in the house some cleaning and food preserving. Please don't contact unless you are physical... more inside
