Hello, Kia ora and welcome!

Are you seeking to get off that beaten track, well, we offer you a truly unique opportunity to escape the 'modern' world and those well worn tracks for a while...

Interested? Please read our listing in full as there are some important points you need to consider.

We are on a beautiful remote wilderness bush property that has a stream running through it which then flows into a river at the front of the property. Its a very peaceful valley and to us it feels like paradise! We live off the grid and are learning self reliance in food in our journey to self sufficiency. We are situated a 55km drive from Opotiki/shops. Or a 2½ hour drive via Motu Road from Gisborne (see below).

This lifestyle offers the chance to learn many aspects of getting back to basics as in hands on, and growing your own food. An idealistic position for couples or singles, especially those who plan ahead a little :) We require a 1 week minimum stay, 10 days or more is better.... more inside

Hey you,
We are Carole & Antoine a french couple who live in NZ for several years now. We are mid-30s who used to be backpackers like you and now we have a house and a family so we can't travel as much.

Te Puke is not very far from the Mt Manganui and Tauranga (20minutes), the region is one of the most beautiful place to live in NZ. It's better if you have a car but you can do without from our place.
The house is only 10 minutes walk from the main street with all the shops you need and bus station.

We are looking for a person or a couple to help us with the twins and some odd jobs around the house (gardening, cleaning). In exchange you will enjoy a private room with unlimited fast internet and you will be sharing the rest of the house with us.

Ok for few nights or weeks.

We are very chilled people and we are also looking for people who are like-minded: clean, tidy, polite, quiet, social, love traveling.

We could point you to the right direction to find a job (plenty... more inside

I'm a beekeeper in need of assistance, either with the bees directly or not. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen.

I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves or paws.

The accommodation is a spare room in the house. The house is a late 1800s villa in need of replacement, but it keeps the weather out and I find it comfortable. Housework isn't high on my priority list, but we try to keep it liveable. Any clean freaks who have never been outside a sterile environment may hate i... more inside

Kia Ora

My name is Olivia and I come from Malaysia. My husband Chris is a Kiwi. We live in the beautiful beach town of Omokoroa, a peninsula in the Western Bay of Plenty. We live close to the golf course and walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants.

We have a lovely flat flower and vegetable garden (900sq m) and require help maintaining the gardens - weeding, planting and picking the produce. In addition we would appreciate some assistance in the house with light housework. One or two people would be preferred. working 4 - 5 hours each day. We are flexible with regard to times for this work leaving ample opportunity to explore the surrounding areas.

The area near us has lots to offer in terms of sightseeing and adventure. We are just one and a half hours drive from Rotorua, 3 hours to the top of the Coromandel, 10 mins to the Kaimai Bush Walks and 20 mins from Tauranga. There are also hot thermal pools in Omokoroa and close by.

The house is fairly large. You... more inside
