Hello... a bit about us and what we do on our own special little speck of earth here in Oropi...

(check our FB page for the HelpX Crew album of photos!)

We are set on a 13.5 acre life-style block about 20mins to Tauranga, 30mins to Mount Maunganui beach and also Rotorua. (I can pick people up from Tauranga city centre or Bethlehem).

Its coming into berry season here now (yum!) and a great opportunity to enjoy the Bay of Plenty sunshine and do some sightseeing!

We have had some fabulous helpers doing gardening, painting and other creative projects so if you have initiative, are enthusiastic, capable and keen to learn, we can find something to suit you!

I have a cute dog, 20 chickens and bantams and occasionally a couple of friendly goats from over the fence plus the 'neigh'bours horses doing some grass control.

Usually there are 6 of us in the house and a few other people on the property (the neighbours visit a bit too!).

The bunk room available sleeps 4 (share... more inside

Our home is myself and my two amazing children (17 and 11 years old)two dogs and one ferocious cat named Christmas Pudding, four chickens and a big garden so I am always happy to get some help.We have a good sense of humor and like to share our kiwi culture. The area is great for cycling, hiking, fishing and hunting. Hi,

I`m a beekeeper in need of assistance, either with the bees directly or not. I`m located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I`m usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen.

I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves.

The accommodation is a spare room in the house. The house is a late 1800`s villa in need of replacement, but it keeps the weather out and I find it comfortable. Housework isn`t high on my priority list, but we try to keep it liveable. Any clean freaks who have never been outside a sterile environmen... more inside

Private house with 2 adults and occasionally university son(s) home. Only 7 minutes drive to central Tauranga. On local bus route. We would love someone with construction skills to do some house repairs, including tiling in the kitchen. We also have a garden that needs work. If you have any of these skills, please contact us. We would also welcome someone who could help with some cooking and housework. I work full time and my husband is semi retired and a great cook!
