Due to recent poor health and 3 months in and out of hospital, we are looking for some help around the house to get the property back under control.
Small block close to town, many smallish jobs available, weeding, planting, shed repairs, house and windows washed, replacement irrigation system to name a few. Many things to see and do in the region, a river 250 metres at the end of the road, beaches 10 minute drive, surf and fishing beaches, Rere Falls and Rockslide, plus other attractions within 40 minutes from the house. We can pick you up from the bus stop in town, plenty of parking if you have a vehicle.

8km from Gisborne city in the lovely surf community of Okitu/Wainui. With fantastic views of the beach and Lysnar valley.

We have a lifestyle property which we are developing and trying to maintain. Free range chickens, planting of fruit and citrus trees and a vegetable garden for self sufficiency.

We offer accommodation in a sleepout; (3rd picture) with world class views of the ocean with one queen bed and a TV (so ideally one person or a couple is best) - the bathroom/toilet facilities are in the main house. A toaster, electric jug, microwave, electric hob and fridge is in the sleep out so that you can make your own breakfast/lunch/snacks. We will provide a dinner each evening in return for 4 hours help/day/person around the property or in the house.

Flexible work hours are fine. But you do need to be able to work unsupervised most of the time. We need help with gardening, hedge trimming, lawn mowing, taking out weeds, establishing new gardens, window cleaning, housew... more inside

"WOOFING ON THE EDGE OF THE EARTH"

This is a unique chance to live and work on one of the most eastern farms of the world.

Definitely a Must-Do for any kind of traveler.

My variety of things to do is big, like help running a campground as well as the farms, or with a bit of leisure time you can go fishing, or walk along the beach, or walk up the hill to see old Maori Pa sites.

On the farm, we feed and herd the animals, drive the quad and mower, have a lot of other experiences and cook if you like.

So it is everything except boring woofing on the edge of the earth.

Only one requirement is necessary, I expect you to bring a serious working attitude along. Everything else I am keen to teach you.

You will live with me on the farm, enjoying my tasty food and learning basic Maori words.

The best thing, you see THE FIRST SUNRISE IN THE WORLD for FREE while you are staying here.

So come and experience the farm feeling for a few days or weeks or longer if y... more inside

The farm here is 1910ha with big hills and rivers 1hr inland from Gisborne. We run a sheep and beef breeding station with 5000 sheep and 700 cattle. Richard runs the farm full time with help sometimes from his young family and a couple of staff. Amanda manages the household full time. We have 4 children Mia 8, Angus 6, Beau 5 and Jed 2. The right person would need to be comfortable around children and animals plus the madness this brings. The garden is in need of a tidy up Weeding, pruning, planting... We love a large vege garden which we aim to solely feed the family from. General cleaning duties around the house, plus helping with cooking and prep. We are about to carry out some renovations, and need help stripping wallpaper.
We have maintenance on farm buildings to carry out as well, for helpers with suitable experience. Often there is help needed on farm too.
Definitely the right helper needs to be good with kids as some help will be required with them. It would be great ... more inside

We run a diverse farming business including sheep and cattle, citrus, cropping and farm forestry.
We live about 30 km out of Gisborne in a fabulous rural area. So you need your own transport to reach us.
We have 600 hectares of beautiful land to hike over and amazing beaches are only minutes away.
We are both really active in our community and happy to include interested visitors in whatever we have on.

There are always jobs that we need a bit of help with, for example building, gardening, house work and stock work. There are also usually horses needing riding if you are a capable rider.

You will have your own room and bathroom in our house. Wi fi internet connection available.
We enjoy cooking and learning new recipes. Meat meals are provided but we are happy to fit in with most dietary requirements.

We prefer to host couples or 2 singles as it is easier bedroom wise.
We would love a profile photo.

Tokomaru Bay, 90 kms north of Gisborne, is a small coastal community with a predominantly Maori population. Our seaside property overlooks this beautiful bay. Comprising of a pottery workshop, Te Waihi Stream Gallery and a large two storey home and gardens. Plenty of opportunities for fishing, diving and surfing and swimming, walking along the beach or climbing the surrounding hills. Interesting local history. A chance to see a working pottery in action. Help is needed in the garden generally as well as landscaping in certain places, house painting, building and restoration projects, gathering and chopping firewood and other household tasks.

GISBORNE awesome beaches and the best surf breaks on the sunny East Coast ...

Opportunity for one or two people to enjoy free accommodation and food for a week or two in exchange for some help with my bee keeping hobby. You will have your own room and facilities in a clean and modern house in the suburbs. I am specifically looking for one or two hard workers to help with the harvest from about mid-February ... other than that it is helping out in the field and around the house; average about 4 hours a day.

This is a great chance to experience bee keeping in New Zealand and maybe learn something new. No prior experience is required, but you will need to be handy with tools, have attention to detail and be tidy with your work. And perhaps play some guitar by the outdoor fire place in the evening ;-)

Message me for further detail. Cheers; Hendrik & Lukas (12 years old)

We are a married couple in our mid thirties with three young children (Emma who is 6 and Ben who is 4 years old and Angus is two years old ) on a family sheep and beef farm, we also grow asparagus in the spring which we take to the local farmers market each Saturday. The location of the farm is approximately 40 minutes from Gisborne and a short drive from the Rere rockslide, Rere waterfall and Eastwoodhill Arboretum.

We are looking for keen and energetic people to come and stay and be a part of our family and partake in our busy daily lives. This would involve spending time with our children, helping around and in the house and garden, getting out and participating on the farm and the asparagus patch.
At this time of year our main requirement from helpers is to help with children, farmwork and housework.
We are hoping to have a combination of short term and longterm help x helpers from october onward.

You would be staying in our home or in our brand new sleepout that has... more inside
