Due to current health issues, we am currently unable to host.
Once these issues are resolved, we will be looking for some help around the house to get the property back under control.
Small block close to town, many smallish jobs available, weeding, planting, shed repairs, house and windows washed, replacement irrigation system to name a few. Many things to see and do in the region, a river 250 metres at the end of the road, beaches 10 minute drive, surf and fishing beaches, Rere Falls and Rockslide, plus other attractions within 40 minutes from the house. We can pick you up from the bus stop in town, plenty of parking if you have a vehicle.

Looking to make this trip special? Stay with us and we can help you get the most out of the hidden places that most visitors don't see. We are a couple in our early 60's living in a simple old Bach in the heart of Tolaga Bay township, a place with a rich and diverse culture and strong traditions. Tolaga Bay is the perfect gateway to the East Coast of New Zealand.
Our house is near the beach and the river, about 5 minutes walk away and an easy stroll to the pub, shops and golf club. The sea and the forests nearby supply most of our food, which is supplemented with vegetables and fruits grown in our organic garden. We eat fresh with whatever is in season and land on the table each day.

We would like to host enthusiastic, self motivated and capable people willing to participate in our daily lives and share their knowledge and culture. Skilled tradies are very much in demand but energetic and pro active individual are always welcome. At the moment much help is needed in the gard... more inside

"WOOFING ON THE EDGE OF THE EARTH"

This is a unique chance to live and work on one of the most eastern farms of the world.

Definitely a Must-Do for any kind of traveler.

My variety of things to do is big, like help running a campground as well as the farms, or with a bit of leisure time you can go fishing, or walk along the beach, or walk up the hill to see old Maori Pa sites.

On the farm, we feed and herd the animals, drive the quad and mower, have a lot of other experiences and cook if you like.

So it is everything except boring woofing on the edge of the earth.

Only one requirement is necessary, I expect you to bring a serious working attitude along. Everything else I am keen to teach you.

You will live with me on the farm, enjoying my tasty food and learning basic Maori words.

The best thing, you see THE FIRST SUNRISE IN THE WORLD for FREE while you are staying here.

So come and experience the farm feeling for a few days or weeks or longer if y... more inside

We are a married couple in our mid thirties with three young children (Emma who is 7 and Ben who is 5 years old and Angus is 3 years old ) on a family sheep and beef farm, we also grow asparagus in the spring which we take to the local farmers market each Saturday. The location of the farm is approximately 40 minutes from Gisborne and a short drive from the Rere rockslide, Rere waterfall and Eastwoodhill Arboretum.

We are looking for keen and energetic people to come and stay and be a part of our family and partake in our busy daily lives. This would involve spending time with our children, helping around and in the house and garden, getting out and participating on the farm and the asparagus patch.
At this time of year our main requirement from helpers is to help with kids, getting into the vegie garden, helping on the farm and just being an extra pair of hands in a busy household.

You would be staying in our home or in our new sleepout that has stunning views of the farm,... more inside

We run a farm about 30km out of Gisborne in a fabulous rural area. So you need your own transport to reach us. We have 1100 acres of beautiful land to walk and sightsee over. We breed our own Bulls, for our yearly sale. We also have cows, sheep, pet lambs and also a beautiful calf, two cats, (farm)dogs, and a lot of fun. There are always jobs that we need a bit of help with, for example woodwork, gardening, playing tennis, stockwork, fencing and putting golf balls.

You will have your own room in our house. In your leisure you could use our tennis court, go for a walk, spend your time with the animals or go into Gisborne or Rere Rockslide and the Eastwoodhill Arboratum are only minutes away. Wi fi internet connection.
There is always something to do.
If you have special dietary needs or a vegetarian, you will need to provide some of your own food lentils, couscous, or any veges that you might think you need. Meat meals are provided, but vegetarian is up to you.
Your own car ... more inside

Kia ora, interested in visiting the East Coast Te Araroa. Small property where I run my business Joanne's Grass Roots maori arts. Would love someone to help me prepare my flax so that I can weave my products. I also dabble in earth building, I have a small garden that could use some great weeding skills. I live with my mum who is very knowledgeable about Maori land and folk lore. I would like to build a pizza oven so you won't be without something to do while you u r with me.
I live on the coast with the sea In front and Bush at the back. You'll be able to go fishing, food gathering or just exploring the coast. If you can help me
collect clay, sawdust etc For a play around and maybe build something for 4 hours a day.
I can supply sleeping accommodation and meals.

We have a renovated caravan available with electricity, heating and comfy double futon bed for you to sleep in.
