Do you want to get off the tourist trail and see a bit of NZ that not many people do??

We live in a small, friendly rural community, farming sheep and beef cattle, 40 minutes from Wanganui City. We also have 9.5 hectares of export kiwifruit orchards at home, and also in Wanganui. In Spring we usually rear calves and have pet lambs to feed. We also have dogs, a cat and chickens.

We are looking for motivated, happy, mature HelpXers aged at least 24 or older, with common sense, initiative, enthusiasm and willingness.

We can always use help with weeding flower and vege gardens, firewood and animal feeding and care depending on the time of year. We can show you what is happening around the farm and in the orchards. Help with meals, dishes, and the usual household chores etc.

There is usually something different happening every day - where we need help is mainly outside, and can be physical but always varied. If this sounds like you, and you don`t mind getting your hands ... more inside

Hi helpers, We are looking for 2-4 people to come for a couple of weeks We live in the country, we are wanting help with some waterblasting, painting and general renovation and maintenance jobs, some painting or plastering experience would be an advantage. You would have your own room in our home. Our helpers usually work around 4 hours each day. (Some helpers have preferred to do a day and then take a day off to go tramping or explore the area, (completing the Tongariro crossing is a full day trip from Marton.) We are about 2-3 hours from Wellington, Hawkes Bay and Taranaki. We are pretty flexible about the work times. We have had lots of helpx and wwoofers stay over the past 5 years and really enjoyed all their company.
Please have a look at our profile and our previous helpers comments and E-mail or call us if you think you would suit or if you have any questions. Looking forward to meeting you.

Our home is aiming towards self sufficiency; living off the land with house cow, gardening, wood fired heating, fowls, sheep, forestry, home-kill and hunting access to wild deer and pig. Helpx assistance would be appreciated in living this experience.
The accommodation is in the home or in the self-contained unit next door.[Shower facility in the main house.]
We're on the main road/street into Marton which is on the travel routes to both Palmerston North and Wanganui. If you don't have your own transport either Pete or I can pick you up from a local drop-off.
Peter is involved in forestry management/consultancy with an active interest in hunting and firearm sports. Jenayre practices as a nurse in both Marton and Wanganui. Their five children are now grown, and mostly have their own families.
Little children aren't far away.

Hi my name is peter and I live 0.8km from Wanganui CDB over looking the city and the Wanganui river. The house was built in 1927 and is known locally as The ginger bread cottage. I have spent the last two years restoring the house and taking her back to as she would have been when first built . The inside is nearly finished .The house is 10 minutes walk to the CBD and 5 minutes walk to the lake . I like my helpers to do the work in the mornings So they have the afternoons off to explore . I have back problems and need help In the gardens , painting weeding and other general household work . Nothing to hard or to stressful . For 2 hours work I provide a large private room and the use of the kitchen etc I am flexible so if you wanted the day off you could do extra work one day and have the next off . I like my helpx to stay a week or longer by negotiation. A warm welcome awaits you . Don`t worry if your English is limited. This place has so much charm.
It is a little village by the Rangitikei River in the middle of the Lower North Island. And, just off SH1 is our 35 year old family business of running family rafting trips, 2 camping grounds and a licensed cafe. We need some season help.
At this time of the year, our location is primo for people interested in being near the Mt Ruapehu by day, and work for accommodation by night. You would help 5 nights a week and have the other 2 days to yourself for exploring or whatever.
Your 1 bedroom house has a double bed (great for couples) heating, kitchen, shower and toilet plus some wifi. We can change beds so it suits 2 friends and can supply bedding if you are in need. We would prefer people that can stay at least 2 weeks, but more is best.
Experience in hospitality would be great, but really we are looking for friendly and quick learners that are not afraid of chatting with our guests and multi-tasking.
Other jobs can include:
= Housekeeping - cleanin... more inside

Hi I'm Khadisha and have enjoyed having Helpx stay for the last 7 yrs.

Well winter is here so wont have Helpx till spring so if your interested in coming after Sept get in touch. Jobs will be varied - out in the garden as well as to outside of the house (roof & guttering to be cleaned, walls and windows to be washed). There are also inside jobs to be done including some painting of furniture.I have a bad back at present so would be great if you can help.

I usually only have Helpx workers for 1 week and generally they do 4hrs in the morning so you can have the afternoon off to explore the region but if you want to do more and have a whole day off, I'm flexible.
The house is about a 10 min walk from main shopping area and about 5 mins from Victoria lake and and the Whanganui river is close by. There are a number of tramps in the area and the beach not too far away.

I live with Sambucca [a cat] and Maxwell [a dog] so animal lovers are important. I have 2 comfortable double ... more inside
