WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR:
**GENERAL HELP WITH PREPARATION FOR SUMMER SEASON from last week in October.

We run a tourist accommodation business with a difference. We are situated on the banks of the Whanganui River, surrounded by the Whanganui National Park, however the only access to our property is via boat or, the more popular option, by aerial cable car (the flying fox).
We are located 45km from Whanganui township with road access to the cable way via a beautiful scenic 45 min drive. Due to the rural location own transport is preferred as this will also enable you to explore the local area during time off.
We have various accommodation options including camping, glamping and self contained cottages. We also provide catering for some guests. Our accommodation is unique in that it is all built from reclaimed materials and therefore is rustic and quirky! We are off-grid for everything except electricity and have no cell phone access although we do have internet availabl... more inside

We are looking for causal babysitters!
Short term stays most welcome. we live in the country side a 12 minute drive from the city of Whanganui. In return for your stay and accommodation I only ask that you can collect my two children from school (A short 2 minute walk) and play games with them for 2-3 hours until I return from work. Prefer females to apply.
A large house with a large bedroom for you to stay in. A good place to come if you need a rest between jobs or traveling as you can sleep-in, in the mornings. :)
I've included pictures of the house. Sorry that it is unfurnished, the pictures were taken just after I finished painting the interior. It is now of course furnished.

Do you want to get off the tourist trail and see a bit of NZ that not many people do??

We live in a small, friendly rural community, farming sheep and beef cattle, 40 minutes from Wanganui City. We also have 9.5 hectares of export kiwifruit orchards at home, and also in Wanganui. In Spring we usually rear calves and have pet lambs to feed. We also have dogs, a cat and chickens.

We are looking for motivated, happy, mature HelpXers aged at least 24 or older, with common sense, initiative, enthusiasm and willingness.

We can always use help with weeding flower and vege gardens, firewood and animal feeding and care depending on the time of year. We can show you what is happening around the farm and in the orchards. Help with meals, dishes, and the usual household chores etc.

There is usually something different happening every day - where we need help is mainly outside, and can be physical but always varied. If this sounds like you, and you don`t mind getting your hands ... more inside

I have back problems and need help In the gardens , painting weeding and other general household work . Nothing to hard or to stressful . For 2 hours work I provide a large private room and the use of the kitchen etc I am flexible so if you wanted the day off you could do extra work one day and have the next off . I like my helpx to stay a week or longer by negotiation. A warm welcome awaits you . Don`t worry if your English is limited. We have a large general accommodation business for up to 60 guests. It has now been operating for four years. While it is only a 15 minute walk to the centre of the city, with our spacious grounds there is a distinct feeling of being in the country.

Helpers have their own room and free internet. Food is provided or you can prepare your own if you prefer. Any helpers with special diets must prepare their own meals. Helpers are encouraged to become part of the family and help with cooking etc.

Our facilities include a games room with a pool table, indoor bowls and table tennis. There is a barbeque available.

We enjoy meeting helpers from anywhere in the world and in any age group.

We need helpers for several tasks:

We have a lot of help needed for the grounds and gardens. Anybody who is handy with a paintbrush or tools would also be welcome as we are always looking to improve our facility.

Inside we have cleaning and office work (mainly checking people in and out), ... more inside

We would love to host someone from mid-January 2020 who is happy to help cook meals, look after the vegetable garden and keep the house yard tidy. You would need to be OK with using machinery such as lawn mowers, weed eaters, 4wheel drive bikes, feeding horses and donkeys, dogs, cats, hens. If you like the idea you can help take the four miniature donkeys out for walks regularly. The donkeys have a job to do helping to take people for walks around our farm and it is good to keep them fit for that. They have their own fb page, search for donkey walking and you will find them. It would suit someone wanting to stay for a week or so rather than only a couple of days. Having your own transport would allow you to be able to get to town as you need - we're located 30 mins drive from Wanganui in a rural setting, 800 hectares hill country beef and sheep farm. Limited mobile phone reception. Use of internet and phone would be negotiated. Non smoker preferred. We usually work early in the ... more inside
