My place is on the Kapiti coast about 5km north of the village of Waikanae. The property is some three and a half acres in extent planted with mainly native trees. The front boundary is on Peka Peka Beach looking out to Kapiti Island. The houses at Peka Peka have to be set back 70 meters from the shore so they cannot be seen from the beach which thus has a remote feel and is a good place for walks, swimming, gathering shellfish or just sitting contemplating.

My wife is in permanent care and I am living here on my own. Helpers need to cater for themselves. Tasks would include clearing overgrown areas, removing some flax bushes and a variety other outdoor jobs.

Helpers stay in a self contained cottage which has its own kitchen and bathroom and a separate bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. The house I live in was built on top of the cottage and is connected to it by a stair way. I have been letting the cottage to visitors through airbnb and have had excellent r... more inside

We need help exercising and riding endurance horses and thoroughbreds. There will be opportunities to compete for competent riders.

General jobs around our home and small farm including weeding, home and farm maintenance. We have horses, dogs, cats and chickens.

Musicians are most welcome.
Situated close to Greytown in the Wairarapa. Swimming pool. We love wine and will tour the wineries at an excuse. Our household consists of adults and animals

For more information on the region http://wairarapanz.com/
http://www.newzealand.com/int/wairarapa/

The Wairarapa is a large region with a very low population with an average of 7 people per kilometre. There is transport to the area but transport around the Wairarapa is minimal so getting around without a car is extremely difficult. If you love big skies, nature, food and wine our region is for you.

Hey guys,
No one ever has lived on this piece of land before we've purchased it and we developing the land from scratch, so you could call us pioneers ;)
The property is 20acres and half of it is covered with beautiful native bush with a huge variety of native trees like Totara, Kaekatea, Matai, Rimu to name a few. The other half is mostly pines (weeds!) we are taking out at the moment and replacing them with natives. We also going to establish an orchard (fruits, nuts etc) and veggie gardens (all organic!) and have to build many structures, mostly earth buildings.
There is a stream and a decent size waterfall on our land also. The water we using comes from our clean spring. We are totally off the grid, producing our own power. We`ve got showers and composting toilets in place.
So far it`s 5 of us on the land. My wife Ragna, our son Samson, our other son Maximilian, Hokee the cat and me, Alex :)
There are so many projects going on right now and we could need anybody with a good... more inside

Functioning dairy farm based 2 minutes from Eketahuna town, 25 minutes from Masterton on the east coast of the North Island. Wellington is a 2 hour drive south. Very central location.

The farm house has 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. Loads of friendly pets around, and a couple of horses. It's a really handy location to town, so it's great for socialising when not helping out! You would have internet, sky, washing machine etc..

Looking for help with a wide range of jobs i.e farm jobs, cleaning, cooking, helping with the horses, and odd jobs around the house.

We are a young couple looking for some enthusiastic people to join us. We are very social, and would be happy to show you around the area, and introduce you to kiwi food and beer :)

We have just moved to a beautiful 9.5 acre block and are active cleaning everything up, growing fruit (orchard is already established), and veges in a small greenhouse.

We are a family of two adults, two cats and two dogs (all pets are fed raw), and are enjoying spending time at the land. We could use some help with collecting firewood (which is spread all over the place), weeding, using ride-on lawn mower and weed eater, planting and re-planting, repairing of buildings and sheds, mulching, sometimes looking after our dogs - depending on your preferences.

We have a separate sleep out for one person to stay, which contains toilet and shower as well. Internet is available.
Due to hyper sensitivities we are smoke and perfume free.

We are living right at the Golf Course. This is just 5 minutes away from Otaki town, and 5 minutes to the beach, with a car. A car is available for short trips, but if you plan to do longer excursions in the area, you would need your own vehicle or ... more inside

Hi,

We have a lovely modern beach-side house to share in the spirit of the HelpX community.

Now there are two rooms (one with en-suite) available for a short/medium stay in return for help with cooking, housework, light gardening (weather dependent) and dog-walking tasks. All food is vegan/vegetarian.

The two beautiful (but energetic dogs) will always be willing to play.

I'm presently looking for someone who is interested in taking some photos for my website.

Next available date is January 22nd.

Your host,
Suz

We would host you at our historic country home built in 1881. It is nestled at the bottom of a valley and this tranquil setting has country views and easy access the Tararua ranges for hiking. We are only 15 minutesí drive from Masterton. We are 20 minutes from the Puhaka National Bird Reserve where you can see the white kiwi.

The Wairarapa offers you the chance to enjoy all New Zealand has to offer, with great vineyards, rivers and beautiful mountains.

We drive to Masterton daily so could assist with rides when we are already heading into town although your own car would be helpful. There are daily train and bus services to Masterton and we would be happy to pick you up when you arrive. We have 2 mountain bikes and kayaks available.

We have recently semi-retired so are looking forward to tackling lots of projects on our 12 acre lifestyle block whilst continuing to run our own businesses. We have lots of everyday maintenance work. This summer we are working on our garde... more inside

* Over the Summer we are keen to have Helpx to help us clean, sand & paint our house.

Rock climbing / harness experience a plus for high bits

We live in a river valley just outside Palmerston North, in the Manawatu area, and we are about 15km from town. We have a large family home (which we are still building) on a small 'lifestyle' farm with sheep, cows, horses, chickens, ducks, geese, dog, & cats. There is a lovely swimming hole just below the house, and we make our own power, off-grid.
Our extended family & friends live near by.
There are almost always farming, fencing, building, home made power, organic gardening, weeding & tree planting activities to be done...and music making. We love talking to you and trying your cooking, and Sue loves to paint & draw and make music with you -we also love playing games :-)
