Space available from 7th of March 2019. If you are keen on being part of finishing our Straw Bale house or just helping out with our animals and gardening, this is the place for you. We are a down to earth kiwi family of five who live on a unique block of land just an hour north of our creative capital Wellington.

We run a local tourist attraction by the name of Loco. A 1/4 acre of miniature railway running through themed surroundings in lush gardens. There is also a newly developed petting zoo which is getting lots of smiles.

We also have an organic garden which we use for ourselves and trade for local produce.

You'll be accomodated in a cute retro caravan located a comfortable distance from the main house with has spectacular views of the ranges. You are also welcome to use the house at all times.

Most of the work we would ask you to do is in the garden, general weeding and tidying, some firewood chopping, animal care and help with building our Strawbale house. if ... more inside

Hi there! Thanks for checking us out.
Our property, has 4 rescued, retired race horses.
I currently have an injury and I`m on crutches, so I need help with grooming, feeding out, cutting and spraying of weeds; re-sewing; harrowing or mucking out paddocks; property maintenance and maybe a wee bit of housework and gardening.
While not a necessity, an interest in horses would be really lovely.
You would not be staying on the property, but with me in my comfortable house, a few minutes drive away.
We are meat eaters but happy to accommodate vegetarians if you`re willing to pitch in with cooking/ideas, but not vegans, sorry.
We are non-smokers.
You would be asked to help out for 4 hours per day with one day off during the week (or 24 hours per week) and preferred stay would be 2 weeks; but this is negotiable beforehand.
Prefer someone (or couple) with their own transport; or over 25 with drivers licence.
We are not far from the capital (Wellington) and have the Tararua Ra... more inside

Pet calves, lambs, hens, and farm dogs all are cute and many helpers fall in love with Ted a beardie/huntaway breed of dog. The next space available from 27th February. I have a short wish list of things I want to do with our almost 5 year old. Having a help x and a few nice days of weather and I think I can get it done. I just want to do a couple of mum and daughter experiences.

We live on a sheep, beef, dairy and deer farm. Ashhurst is about 15 minute drive.
palmerston north and Feilding are both 30 minute drive from our home. it is not essential to have a car I can pick you up from Palmerston north, Feilding or Ashhurst. We do not have any family in the north island and sometimes it would just be nice to get to the movies more than once every few years! Then the girls are learning from help x too. Early January 2019 Marie taught the girls some chords on the Ukakalale.

One of my biggest enjoyments is showing others what we cook for dinner and then sitting down and ... more inside

We live in a river valley just outside Palmerston North, in the Manawatu area, and we are about 15km from town. We have a large family home (which we are still building) on a small 'lifestyle' farm with sheep, cows, horses, chickens, ducks, geese, dogs, cats, tree frogs & a goat. There is a lovely swimming hole just below the house and we make our own power.
Our extended family & friends live near by.
There are almost always farming, fencing, building, home made power, organic gardening, weeding & tree planting activities to be done...and music making. We love talking to you and trying your cooking, and Sue loves to paint & draw and make music with you :-)

We have got space for 1 female helper to help with everyday tasks (e.g. cleaning, cooking, looking after the kid(s)) and help with tidy up work in the garden.
You should have some experience (e.g. household, kids) and we'd like a 7-10 days minimum stay.

--

Jobs are a mixed and weather dependent - gardening (e.g. weeding, watering, tidy up jobs, odd jobs & projects), daily family life & household tasks (e.g. dishes, cleaning, help with cooking & washing), feeding animals/pets and looking after the kids.

We are a Kiwi-German family with 3 children (7, 10 and & 4 yrs old) and live in the beautiful Wairarapa region. We live on a sheep & beef farm about 3kms from the scenic Tora coast. We have got cats, rabbits, dogs, chickens, honey bees and on the farm are lots of sheep & cattle (of course). There is also an opportunity for horse riding if you've got some experience.

We'd like ~4-5 hours of help a day in exchange for food and accommodation in our family home.

Richard will try and explain what we`re doing on the farm at the time of year, give you a tour around the farm and where able involve you in some of the jobs when handling the animals. As mentioned we are 25 mins east of Masterton and only an hour and a half from Wellington. Accommodation is in with us, with a double bed (plus another mattress which can go on the floor).
