The next space available is from 27th December.

We live on a sheep, beef, dairy and deer farm. Ashhurst is about 15 minute drive.
palmerston north and Feilding are both 30 minute drive from our home. it is not essential to have a car I can pick you up from Palmerston north. We do not have any family in the north island and sometimes it would just be nice to get to the movies more than once every few years!

One of my biggest enjoyments is showing others what we cook for dinner and then sitting down and eating as a family. We can explain a few aspects of farming if you are interested in knowing more. We like talking while having a cup of tea. we want you to have a good time exploring the beautiful farm. From our kitchen we can see Mount Taranaki and Mount Rauhaphu. It is not always viewable but early mornings and sunsets are most likely to see. We have 25 great reviews of past help x people. We can sometimes say yes to arriving within a couple of days.

Hi there! Thanks for checking us out.
There are two horse properties. One property, has rescued, retired thoroughbred race horses. The other is a working horse property where horses are trained and lessons are given.
I currently have an injury and I`m on crutches, so I need help with gardens, grooming, feeding out, cutting and spraying of weeds; re-sewing; harrowing or mucking out paddocks and maybe a wee bit of housework. At the other property, Jane needs assistance mucking out; general grounds, gardens and paddock maintenance; clearing of sheds and outbuildings.
While not a necessity, an interest in horses would be really lovely.
You would not be staying on either of the properties, but with me in my comfortable house, a few minutes drive away.
We are meat eaters but happy to accommodate vegetarians if you`re willing to pitch in with cooking/ideas, but not vegans, sorry.
We are non-smokers.
You would be asked to help out for 4 hours per day with one day off during the ... more inside

We are a family of four (two small children) and we live on a lifestyle block in the beautiful Waiohine Valley. We like good food and fresh air. At the end of the road is an entrance to the Tararua Forest park for some great tramping/walking and a cool swing bridge across the river where there is great swimming. On our block we have a small herd of cattle and flock of sheep (we are due to have lambs mid October).
We are in the process of landscaping, developing an orchard, developing our vege garden, loading wood for next winter and maintaining existing gardens.
We have a separate guest room with ensuite (shown in the photos). The accommodation best suits a couple. We are looking for guests to help with planting, general farm routines (feeding out to cattle, stacking wood) and gardening (for an average of 4 hours per day) in exchange for food and accommodation.
We are 15 mins drive from Greytown and Carterton.
