I am German and have lived in New Zealand for 20 years. My two children live here half the week (4yr and 16yr), which tends to be the more social half of the week (other half I work a lot). We have a Kiwi dog, 6 kiwi chickens and 2 Kiwi guinea pig.

Only five minutes drive from Hutt city, or 20 min to Wellington by train.

We live amidst a very beautiful native bush setting with a small stream running through the property, lots of Fantail, Kererus, Tui and other native birds. Enjoy unlimited access to the bush via walking tracks which go right to the top of the hills above Wainuiomata via fire breaks, or take a quick 20-minute loop walk to work up an appetite before dinner.

Right now I am looking for someone mainly for painting, gardening work and some cleaning. Anyone with woods skills would also be very handy. If you can handle a chainsaw let me know! You must be happy to work if it's raining as most work is outdoors.

The suggested arrangement is for you to work ... more inside

***Sorry- We are not taking HelpX at his time***

We are a family of 4, our two kids, Oliver and Katie are 10 and 8 years old.

We live in a 4 bedroom house in Island Bay which is a seaside village about 10 minutes from Wellington city centre. We have a bus stop very close to our house where buses go into the city every 15 minutes.
We have a large back garden and a separate bedroom for HelpX people.

We are looking for someone who is confident and fun and likes being around kids who have a lot of energy!

We would like one or two people to do some maintainance work around the house- painting, fence building and other things. Preferably someone with some experience or skill in these areas.

In exchange for this we can offer your own large room with a double bed, all food (although you may have to cook your own) and a great area to stay in.

William and Sarah

Hi I currently need some help planting out and generally tidying up the vegetable gardens and also need help painting an old train carriage that has been converted into a tiny house.
I generate some of my own power with solar electric and solar hot water, make muesli, laundry detergent, soap, jams, preserves, seed saving, spin and knit wool and grow beef and vegetables and beekeeping bees for honey. Also I have about an acre of blueberries. Blueberry season is generally in January and February.
While I do these things I don't do them every day as farms are seasonal. I have a variety of animals and general farm jobs that are ongoing and varied.
Cell ph coverage is spark and vodafone but not 2 degrees.
Arrival is on a Monday evening at 6pm and departure is also on a Monday. I am not vegetarian but vegetarians are welcome with appropriate food supplied. Smokers welcome if you smoke outside. Pretty much everything you need is supplied. As there is no public transport to the farm... more inside

We are a family living by the beach 40 minutes north of Wellington.

There are lots of things we need help with but mostly labouring tasks - eg building, gardening, landscaping.

We also welcome some help around the house, cooking skills would be ideal.

We really enjoy a view into different cultures and sharing an experience with you

Thanks for your interest

Come and stay in our own private little valley and immerse yourself in the sounds of the babbling stream and birdsong. Enjoy the feeling of being out of the hustle and bustle while being just 10 minutes from Lower Hutt CBD.

More of a massive garden than a farm, there's never a shortage of jobs to do :).

Outdoors there's general gardenening maintenance; weeding; fruit picking (in season); fixing up fences and steps and things; moving things around; collecting/chopping firewood; mulching; feeding chickens and sheep; etc; etc. Inside (for rainy days) we might ask you to help with cleaning; maintenance and other projects.

Accomodation is dependent on when you come and who else is here. You might be in a private room in a separate (shared) building with shared bathroom, in the house, or for the truly adventurous, in the cabin.

We currently have 2.5 year old twins so our mealtimes are a little scatty but the general plan is help yourself to breakfast whatever time you ... more inside

In the funky, artistic, 'green focussed' community of Aro Valley - with great cafe's and a microbrewery - short walk downhill from our place to central Wellington. We live in a suburb in the city that feels like it's in the country.

Looking for a single or a couple (only one bed) to do 4(ish) hours work a day in exchange for food and board.

Tasks (required everyday): Cook the evening meal, keep the house clean and tidy, includes clothes washing/folding, dishwashing, and walking our super friendly dog.

Possible Additional: Gardening. House maintenance, Possible childcare requirements - which may include evening babysitting.

We have just built a house and there is some labouring (mostly moving dirt at the moment), so practically minded people ESSENTIAL please!

Work hours during the day fully negotiable depending on what travelling activities you’re keen to tick off in Wellington during your stay.

Brand new house. Warm room and comfy double bed. Living area, Bathr... more inside

We are a couple in our mid 50's who are "empty nesters" - that is our children have all left home (though our adult children and grandchildren live very close by) We have varied interests and would describe ourselves as easy going and relaxed.

Our preference is to host couples or two people travelling together as friends.

Andrews passion is fishing and snorkeling (diving for seafood but no air bottles) We both enjoy meeting people from differing cultures and we would describe ourselves as easy going and relaxed.

Our property is located 2 minutes walk to Paraparaumu Beach, just 10 minutes walk to the Beach Shops and also the Kapiti Boat Club where the trips to the well known Kapiti Island Nature Reserve leave from.

There are a number of great places to walk in the area. We have bikes that you can use while staying here.

The train station is a short bus ride from our home, with regular train services taking 45 minutes to Wellington. Sometimes Andrew works in Wellingto... more inside

Hi Helpexers Winter in the Wairarapa and we have a cosy house and short sunny days in the garden to look forward to. We also have lots of inside jobs for colder and wetter days. Our small piece of paradise in the countryside is close to Wellington. We offer space for a couple ideally, sorry our place is not suitable for two friends travelling together. The work we have is mainly gardening. Our house and paddocks overlook the countryside and the Tararua range with excellent hiking. We are walking distance to the beautiful heritage village of Greytown (recently won the title of most beautiful village in NZ) with its cafes and shops. To get further than the village you will need a car or van as public transport is very limited. The Pinnacles and Rivendell (both featured in Lord of the Rings) are with one hour's drive. We are also a short drive from Mt Bruce with its Kiwi house and white Kiwi. We have two friendly dogs and a friendly cat. It`s a 55 minute drive to Wellington CBD and a ... more inside
