Hello. We have a wonderful 10 acre lifestyle block close to the villages of Waimauku and Kumeu (wine country) in the north west part of Auckland, just 35 mins drive to the city outside of the rush hour and 20 mins drive to the beautiful Muriwai (surf/swim) beach, there are also a few forest walks and cycle ride options nearby.

I can pick up locally if you don`t have your own transport and we can discuss getting out and about during a stay if you`re happy to fit in with whatever plans we can make to help.
My workplace is located southeast of the city so it would also be possible for you to be dropped of and picked up correspondingly, to spend a day sightseeing or on other activities.

I have a cat and we keep a small flock of sheep and some chickens, I'll be adding to the livestock at some stage.
There is a “young” orchard, vegetable garden & general garden needing attention, as well as the wider property (and home if the weather isn't suitable to be outside).
Ideally I am ... more inside

PLEASE READ FIRST:
My husband I have had to make the tough decision that because of the Caronavirus risk and me being pregnant as well as having a young baby in the house we won't be able to accept anyone straight from their flight into New Zealand.
To keep ourselves safe we will only be able to take our guests once they have been in New Zealand for 2 weeks and have had no signs of cold, flu or sickness.
We hope you can all understand and we are so sorry if this makes it harder for you. We truly love our exchange experiences and being the first New Zealanders to welcome you on your trip but we must keep the risk to our unborn baby low while this sickness is at it's height.

Hi there, unfortunately we are not able to take anyone at this time as our current helpers are extending their stay here due to their flights being cancelled because of Covid-19. If you are struggling to find somewhere to stay, we suggest you do the same and ask your current host if you are able to extend your stay there. We wish you all the very best. Thanks.

Come and stay on a vineyard in beautiful Matakana, 40 minutes north of Auckland CBD.

We are a friendly and relaxed couple looking for strong, hard- and fast-working people and their companions to help us get some work done in the vineyard, on the property / gardens and house. Must have the "smarts" or the capacity to learn.

Help needed could include:
VINEYARD: vine management, harvesting, vineyard maintenance. Vineyard experience is not required, but we're happy to educate you if you're interested in gaining vineyard management experience (eg. pruning, shoot thinning, tucking, lateral remov... more inside

SORRY BUT WE HAVE HELPERS AT THE MOMENT. We ideally need a helper who is happy dealing with horses (bringing them in, changing covers, grooming, feeding, tacking up etc) as well as helping around the house and garden. If you are a proficient rider, you can ride if you want. We also have a kaimanawa (wild) pony that we are in the process of introducing to captivity, so if you are interested in handling young, wild ponies, then this is the place for you! You also need to like dogs, as we have 2 very affectionate boxers (and a puppy) who will want to be your best friend.

It would be great if you had your own transport as the nearest shops (and bus stop)are 3km away (although we do have bikes if you are keen).

We have a lovely 11 acre block, close to Kumeu, 30 mins drive to Auckland City, and 15 mins drive to the beautiful Muriwai Beach. You are accommodated in a cottage with its own modern bathroom and there is plenty of room in the house to relax privately, though we welco... more inside

Kia Ora,
My almost 17yr old son, our dog Bernie and myself live on our family land overlooking our pristine beach, Te Arai Point, a great little east coast surf break, 15 minutes from Mangawhai and 90 from Auckland. Because we are a little remote and sometimes I have to work in Auckland, it is best you have your own transport, but not essential. We are working to replace gorse, clay and pampas with native bush, and harakeke (weaving flax).
In return for 4hrs work, of mostly weeding, planting, cleaning, mowing and building if so inclined. I will show you around in my trusty old Toyota cruiser. Welcome to use our bikes and surf boards. We have lakes and beaches and gorgeous walks. Accommodation is in a caravan with comfortable double bed or a tent under a Puriri tree in the garden with double blow up mattress and good linen. Meals provided, although sometimes you may need to prepare them yourself if I am working. With a large extended family there is always a laugh, and usually a ... more inside

Under our new badge of Sandspit Lodge, a smaller property than Coatesville, with four BnB rooms available within the main house. This 1 1/2 acre property contains 40 productive J5 and Koroneiki olive trees, some Grosso French lavender and Pacific Blue English lavender, ex Coatesville, as well as a lovely 3-tier orchard and loads of citrus trees.

The views over the Sandspit Harbour are simply stunning!

We are seeking one Helper to assist with the B&B activities and gardening over the winter season which is promising to be as busy as usual.

We are seeking the help of strong young Help-Xers now! Prefer someone who knows how to iron sheets!

Please be aware that there are smokers in our household, so if you have a strong aversion to smoking, please do not apply!

With fairly heavy bookings in the near future, we need help with the BnB. Mainly guest room maintenance, laundry, ironing, and associated tasks. A single female traveller would be very appreciated.

We are a young family of four (35, 38, 4 & 2 years old) who live on a small lifestyle block in Mahurangi West about 35 minutes drive from the centre of Auckland city. We have a few paddocks scattered with olive trees, a pizza oven and 5 sheep. We live in a three bedroom family home. Your accommodation is self-contained in our newly renovated caravan called 'Dark Beauty' which has a comfortable king size bed. We of course supply fresh bedding, linen, internet and meals in return for 4-5 hours work per day. Couples are preferred.

We enjoy improving the property and could do with help with a number of jobs like firewood gathering, fence maintenance, sheep work, gardening, cleaning inside and out etc, and cooking is always appreciated.

We are lucky to live in a fun area with beautiful beaches and vineyards nearby. The closest beach is about five minutes drive. To make the most of the area it would be best if you had your own transport. If not then there are other ways you can sti... more inside

We are a recently retired couple regenerating a lifestyle block of former farmland. We need some assistance planting natives in June and July and early August of this year.

Our block is 1 hour north of Auckland city, on the Tawharanui Peninsula, which has a regional park at its end. The protected wildlife sanctuary is 20 minutes drive from our property. Great swimming/surfing with nature trail walking. https://www.newzealand.com/my/feature/tawharanui-regional-park/

Wider area has loads of superb beaches and is close to Matakana village (https://www.matakanavillage.co.nz/) which is famous for its great farmers market, also close to artesian food outlets and award winning wine and breweries.

Goat Island marine reserve (https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/auckland/places/cape-rodney-okakari-point-marine-reserve-goat-island/) is about 20 minutes drive and has great swimming/snorkelling/diving.

There is a regular bus service from Auckland to Matakana an... more inside
