Hi to all, we are a family of four in the Pelorus Sounds, Marlborough. Our closest port is Havelock.
We are looking for easy going people to join our family and help around our place.
We are pretty self-sufficient, and even milk a cow for fresh milk every day!
We have a large sheep farm, and are boat access only, because of our isolation we cannot host people with serious medical conditions, food allergies or picky eaters, Sorry.
We are also a smoke free family.
The best way to get to us is on the mailboat, which runs on a Wednesday.
We would love some help with lots of different jobs, such as on the farm, but also with gardening, and household duties.
We ask that you work around 4 hours a day in return for a place to stay and meals.
We have alternative power, and internet is available.
We like to do a weeks trial with people to make sure we all get along before committing to longer stays.
You must be able to get on with kids and animals, and not mind working by yourself ... more inside

We're currently replacing the birdnetting roof over the blueberries and about to dismantle a small vineyard.Need help from Monday please!
Lots of warming outside work :). If you want to get involved with an organic orchard and see how we make a living give us a yell.
Accommodation is in the warm “blueberry cottage,' a simple self-contained flat that is part of the packhouse across the lawn from our house. It has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen/dining room, computer and wifi, plus there's accommodation in the caravan.I stock the kitchen with good ingredients and between those and the orchard/gardens you assemble your own breakfast. We start at 830 and work for four hours. I make lunch at the house for everyone, and your afternoons are your own. I'll keep the larder stocked with whatever food you like, we don't eat much meat but can supply it, mostly you'll make your own dinners but when time and energy allows it we have dinner together at the house. We have bikes for your ... more inside

Our home is an 1874 Historical property which is surrounded by established gardens. We have a business where we do Devonshire Teas and Weddings.

We have two daughters and two Grandchildren. Also a dog and three cats. We also have bees and a Olive Orchard that we harvest around June/early July.

At the moment we are needing some help with cleaning and some gardening leading up to the new season of weddings in Early November. It`s sorting out some sheds and reorganising areas for the new season.

We have started a renovation. If you have building abilities we have a small cottage that needs lining and weatherboards painted. If you have experience with that we would be happy to take you.

The Area: We are surrounded by vineyards with stunning mountain views in the beautiful Awatere valley of Marlborough. In our area we have some hikes and walking tracks close by.

Our mainland island used to be a large sheep station but we have now let it go back to nature. A major activity apart from our conservation work is catering for visitors who come to get closer to nature in a wild and beautiful place. Work can be looking after those guests, helping with correspondence schooling, home duties or firewood collection, maintaining our track system and other infrastructure, depending on the season.
