Hi
We have a 400 hectare Sheep, Beef and Cropping farm in Marlborough. We have two young boys and need an extra pair of hands from time to time to help on the farm, round the garden or child minding.
We prefer one person or a couple as we only have one spare room in the house. Also you must be able to speak good English and be able to drive a manual (not automatic) vehicle.
We always need help with feeding pet lambs, lambing, tailing lambs (alot of lifting) cattle work, sheep shearing, firewood and fencing. We love it if you can bake and cook too :)

Catherine is farming a 650 cow dairy unit and is looking for some help over the calving season which will begin about 15 July and go through to middle/end of September. The main role will be helping with calf rearing and meal preparation/housework. Calf rearing is a physically demanding job and you also need to be very patient as some calves take a long time to learn how to drink off a feeder. We would prefer that you have previous experience working on a dairy farm. You will live in the main farm house with Catherine which is a warm, comfortable house and have your own bedroom(s). There is WiFi and sky TV. There are great wineries, walks, rivers, fishing, the Marlborough Sounds, Blenheim and Nelson all within easy driving distance. We will provide a car for shopping etc if you don't have your own transport, subject to current valid licence.

We are a family living on a decent size lifestyle block in the heart of the vineyards in Blenheim, Marlborough. Although it is a rural property we are still only 7 minutes drive from town, making it a fantastic location for those who want to experience and work in the more rural area of Marlborough but also be able to access local amenities/ shops and bars. We are looking for someone to stay with us preferably for a minimum week at a time on the standard Helpx basis (food and accommodation for 4 hours work per day)for help working the extensive grounds, gardens and vegetable gardens, some building and maintenance/repair work around the property and helping looking after/ walk the 2 super friendly pooches. There would also be work available inside the house cleaning and cooking etc. We can be flexible with hours if you would rather work full days to have other days off this can be arranged. As you will see from the photos the property is a pretty lovely place to stay with lots of out... more inside

Hi

At home I live with my two busy boys aged 6 and 9.

I own and opperate a coffee and icecream cart on the Picton foreshore and attend Marlborough events.

I ask for help in the icecream cart and with tasks such as fruit picking and preparation, cleaning, gardening, dog walking, child minding.

The helpx expectations are the usual 4 hrs help a day over 6 days per week in exchange for food and accomodation or 2 hours for accomodation only. I am flexible with the length of stay but prefer 1 week minimum.

The accommodation is a caravan alongside our house which has a large double bed. There is a heater for use during the colder months. The facilities are shared in the main house.

We live walking distance to town and close to the bus stop and Isite.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Sarah

Hello Traveller!
We are located in Endeavour Inlet, right on the Queen Charlotte Track in Marlborough, where there are no roads and no cars. If you enjoy nature you will love our slice of paradise. We are surrounded by native forest and pristine bays with clear water. You can arrive via water taxi (departing from Picton) or walk the Queen Charlotte Track to reach us.

We are keen to host a mature, independent individual (one person), prepared to work 4 hrs in the morning helping in the garden and with other odd jobs. The rest of the day is yours to explore the surroundings. You can kayak, walk parts of the Queen Charlotte Track or just relax. You will have your own bedroom either in the house with access to wifi, or a separate cosy hut that is separate from the house. We have a small organic garden and much of our meat is also organic (locally caught venison).

We support the local Endeavour Inlet Conservation Trust - see the Facebook page link for more info.

Gardening in Waikawa, Picton and explore the Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand.

We are a couple with cat and dog who moved to Waikawa, Marlborough Sounds in 2015. We have a 36 foot launch and love to get away to explore the Marlborough Sounds.

The Marlborough Sounds in summer is warm and in winter is lovely, no wind and generally perfect days. Come and explore the Marlborough Sounds with free accommodation (your own room and separate bathroom) and food. We are a few minutes walk from Waikawa Bay and have a bike for your use.

We are planting natives in an area in Waikawa and need help doing this. The work involved is weeding, cutting back and planting natives. The work is physical and you will need to use gardening tools and your muscles. Our preferred length of stay is a week with 4-5 hours work per day, 5 days per week. House work may be an option if its raining hard.

The photos include some from before we started in 2015 through to natives growing well in 2018.

This is an exclusive retreat located in the Marlborough Sounds. We are located in Kahikatea East Bay and only accessed by boat. To arrive here is just a 15 minute boat ride from our berth at Waikawa Bay, or 25 minutes from the front in Picton. We are positioned just metres from the tide and have views directly across the Sound. Our helpers would typically be asked to assist with general maintenance or hosting associated activities. In their spare time they are welcome to kayak, swim, fish or just enjoy the idealic surroundings. You could even be visited by our Dolphin friends who call in quite often. Due to the nature of our business, we cannot cater for helpers with special dietary requirements that take additional time.
