Small lifestyle block in picturesque Upper Moutere. We have one spare room with a double bed so would best suit a single person, couples or close friends :-). There's me and my wife, our two offspring (18 and 16), a cat and 25 chooks also in residence (chooks outside). Looking for mostly some weeding to be done (maybe 6-8 hours work?). In return we'll house and feed you. One of us is a ex chef so I'm pretty sure you'll eat well!

Will you be our next Helper(s)? We've had some truly lovely travellers stay with us, and their help has been awesome. Our farm is mixed stock (cattle, horses, hens, pets etc) in a quiet, attractive, private valley, with an older traditional partly-renovated wooden farmhouse. We are developing the gardens, natural bush areas and wetlands. The gardens normally grow a lot of our food, & our hens are free-range. We are off-grid, using mainly solar power. We enjoy sharing the area with travelers, and we also enjoy board/card games, laughter, stories. We offer meals and accommodation for 4 hours help daily per adult, or you can work 8 hours in order to spend the next day exploring the region. WiFi available. Activities may include gardening, developing native areas/gardens, chores, or similar. For safety reasons we are a non-smoking property. Excitingly, as we develop more of the bush and gardens, the native birds are increasing... Weka, Kea, Bellbirds, Tui, Koreru, Fantails, Morepork, B... more inside

We have a lovely lifestyle block with chickens, cows and cats. We have a new modern guest house available for hard-working folks happy to help out with various projects around the property, including gardening, landscaping, building and improving our mountain bike and jump track, eliminating old man's beard and gorse, some house cleaning, weeding, cutting fire wood, and other non-technical chores. The majority of our tasks suit physically fit individuals who enjoy working in the outdoors.

We are flexible about which days you work so you can maximise your enjoyment of the region.

We are avid mountain bikers and more than happy to give you local trail advice (you would need your own bikes or to hire some) around the region. Nelson is simply incredible for mountain bikers!

Hi!

We are Ondrej and Lucy, a Czech/Kiwi couple who have been living on our country property for 6 years now. Our home is situated just 12 minutes out of Nelson with regenerating native bush and birds. We are also 10 minutes away from the beautiful Cable Bay.

With two children under 5 years old we do not have as much time as we used to maintaining our property.

We are looking for someone who would be interested in helping us with various tasks on our property. This could include general property maintainance, painting, planting, weeding, hedge trimming amongst other things.

We have a sunny, private, self contained studio unit for you to stay in. Bed can be king size or 2 singles. Wifi.

Hours of work and meals will be negotiated to arrange the most suitable situation for everyone. Generally 4-5 hours work for meals and board.

Having your own vehicle would be an advantage.

Kia ora,

Come and be our Helpxers and enjoy a wonderful sunny location with a spectacular sea view. Just 7km from central Nelson, this is a very popular region for travelers with access to the Abel Tasman National Park just over an hour away.
You can ride the bicycle trail into town taking about 20 minutes or there is a bus stop not far away or even better if you have your own transport. We designed and built our home, constructed from Adobe Earth Bricks, a sustainable eco method of building using local materials such as clay and straw, it keeps everyone cool on the hot days and warm and dry on the coolest. Mostly, there is just the two of us and our cat Baxter. We both work so mid to end of week starts are usually our preference for up to one week Helpxing or more if it suits. We ask four hours per day but are flexible for longer days and then take a day or so off to explore our beautiful region. We have a few projects on the go such as internal adobe wall plastering, revampi... more inside

Please make sure you mention your skills in your message, and please only contact us by email, and not by phone.

In general, you will be asked to help with a range of jobs like gardening, landscaping, cooking, cleaning, building projects (mostly joinery / carpentry), or help with our websites.
4 to 5 hours per day, one day off per week. Plus you'll always be asked to give a hand in the kitchen.
