We have a lovely life-style block with chickens, cows, cats, and a horse. We have a new modern guest house available for hard working folks happy to help out with various projects around the property, including gardening, landscaping, building and improving our mountain bike and jump track, eliminating old man's beard and gorse, some house cleaning, weeding, cutting fire wood, and other non-technical chores. The majority of our talks suit physically fit individuals who enjoy working in the outdoors.

We are flexible about which days you work so you can maximise your enjoyment of the region.

We are avid mountain bikers and more than happy to take people on local trails (you would need your own bikes or to hire some) around the region. Nelson is simply incredible for mountain bikers!

Update for keen mountain bikers! We have just completed the first phase of our very own downhill pump and jump track. 400m or so ready to ride and we are keen for your help to make it even more a... more inside

**Shearing later this week, for those interested in experiencing this - contact us now!**

Beautiful hill country sheep and cattle farm, with views of the sea and mountains. Must enjoy working with animals, and have a great work ethic. You must love dogs! We are fairly flexible and in return for 4 hours of help per day, you get free self-contained accommodation with internet and food provided. We are also flexible for you to work a full day and then have a full day off to explore. While you will have your own space, we will spend time together on the farm and also eat together occasionally.

You will be hard-working, practical, fit and strong and not afraid of getting your hands dirty. We offer plenty of general farm work experience, gardening, fire-wood splitting, weed-spraying, house-work, painting and cooking etc.

Ideally, we prefer non-smoking guests who can commit to at least one-two weeks.

Widely traveled hosts, who enjoy meeting people from all over the World.

Kia ora.
Sorry we donít need helpers until September.
Welcome to a great New Zealand cafe.

We are a hard working and fun loving couple and are looking for the same. We need helping hands in the cafe and with our accommodation (The Boot).
We also always need help from keen gardeners for our extensive permaculture garden.
Practical hands are always good, bring your energy and enthusiasm.
There is separate accommodation for a couple.
Helpers must be prepared to share evening meals and cooking duties with us. All food provided.
Close to the beach and enroute to the Able Tasman.
We appreciate at least 3 days notice before we have helpers to stay and will reply to your enquiries within 2 days.
There is a limited bus service to Tasman, the best bus is the Abel Tasman Coachlines or the Naked/Atomic bus but make sure you tell them you are going to Jester House in Tasman (via Mapua). It is easier if you have your own transport.
Kind regards,
Steve.... more inside

Karen and Paul and our 3 grown-up girls who visit quite often. We have just moved to a new home in Kina near Nelson with 4 hectares, where we have a few cattle and a horse. We have just extended the vegetable gardens as we enjoy mostly, good healthy home grown food. Paul does lots of fishing so that is frequently on the table. We eat most healthy foods and occasionally others not so!! We have 2 gorgeous properties, with the beach only 10 minutes walk away. Karen grows lots of flowers and does wedding settings, flower arrangements etc. As there is a fair bit of gardening, so some previous gardening knowledge would be an advantage. We have a holiday home next door to us which is generally pretty busy with guests, so most weeks there is a cleaning & washing schedule to carry out. Usually a bit of a rush before the next guests arrive. Paul is very busy starting a new venture making eco-friendly fishing sinkers, & needs help labelling, packaging etc. We have fairly hectic lives, thoug... more inside

We have a small farm in a beautiful location 30km outside of Nelson. Near a small village called Wakefield, alongside the farm work i run a small business, www.wildoatsfarm.co.nz offering party ponies, trekking for both children and adults.

Along with my husbands work as a shearer and our 11 year daughter we can be a busy family.

Find us at the website Wild oats farm Tasman.

Help is always needed, playing and supervising our daughter when at home, helping around farm, with the animals and chores in the house. No experience needed, but if you can ride that would be a bonus

We would like someone with a positive and happy outlook on life, who enjoys living in a rural location and who can survive without being on a computer 24 hours a day!
Must be able to drive a manual car and we would prefer someone who could stay with us for a longer period of time.
In return, own room, meals/food, WiFi, use of a car and time off daily.

Sorry no couples no vegetarians.

We are a busy sheep and cattle farm situated in the Motueka Valley, 60 minutes drive from Nelson and close to 3 beautiful National Parks. We also grow flowers and harvest organic walnuts.
The Motueka river runs beside the house and our top farm lies in the beautiful Baton Valley. Both rivers are excellent for fishing, kayaking and swimming. Our farming neighbours operate Baton Run Horse Treks.
We have two children. One at University and one who works from home.
Accommodation is in a cosy sleepout attached to the house with facilities shared with the family.
The work would include a mixture of farm and flower work in the tunnelhouse. Some help required with meals at times.
Depending on the season the work could involve hay making, lambing, shearing, mustering, feeding lambs, harvesting walnuts and weeding or picking flowers.
We eat 90% food grown on the property including fresh milk from the house cow and vegetables.
