We are located 40 minutes south of Hokitika and 1.5 hours north of Franz Josef, on a very small dairy farm. We can arrange transport.
We have an 11 year old dog,a 6-8 year old dog and a 22 month old one, two cats and lots of poultry. There is a small pottery (domestic stoneware ceramics) room and kiln.
Our accommodation is a small cosy private sleep out with one bed and wifi.
We prefer a SINGLE over 25 year old person, who has same practical skills. Male or Female. Gardener, chainsaw, tractor driving, quad and trailer, building, landscaper, construction, stonemason, arborist. We always have a big variety of jobs. Fence clearing and firewood is the big task at the moment. Or window cleaning, potting up plants or painting.
The cows are starting to have their calves now so there are little babies that need feeding. There is always garden and landscape work to do.
Mostly outside physical jobs, some need a creative mind. We save the inside jobs for very wet days.

I am a semi retired gentleman in my late fifties, I live on the edge of town next to the Buller river and close to the ocean. I have a large house with a large garden, hothouse and orchard. I am into organics and permaculture.
you can fish the river and the ocean, white baiting in the season. The west coast beaches offer good surfing, and there is a surf school here in town.
I would like to host mature people, must have tidy habits, in return for light gardening. I have a twin single room available in return for a few hours gardening per day.
I am also doing light building work, manufacturing hen houses, outdoor furniture, and carving.
There is plenty to do and see in the area.Tramping and surfing, there is a surfing school here.

I am looking for people to help out in the vegetable garden over the summer months.I grow organic vegetables fruit etc. Also splitting and stacking firewood. Would be keen to find someone with tree pruning experience.

Do you love the outdoors?
We are a small family in Fox Glacier.
We are looking for person or persons to give us a hand with general farm duties. This is a sheep and beef farm so there is always something needing to be done. It is the beginning of lambing and calving at the moment.
Accommodation is a queen room in our family home with all meals, laundry service and unlimited Wi-fi provided in return we ask for a minimum 4 hour day helping us with our day to day farm duties.
We have a son Peter who is 17 and mainly at boarding school other than during the holidays, so you will not get babysitting duty. We do have a house cat "Special" and a house dog "MaGoogin" and two working dogs Sam and Basil and a working puppy Spot. We have naughty chickens and a whole lot of baby chicks running around. Willow has a young pet goat Nicole who likes belly rubs.
So if this sounds like you drop us an email or a txt and when we are in coverage we will get back to you ASAP.

Explore our special part of the West Coast while you help us out in our 24 unit motel. Fox Glacier is a beautiful area, with mountains, temperate rain forest and our stunning Lake Matheson, as well as the glacier, which is just 5km from our friendly little town.
Life is quiet here during the winter months but we need a few hours help each day with the housekeeping work. In return we`ll supply you with a warm, comfortable room to yourself at the motel and unlimited wifi. The room has cooking facilities and your own bathroom.
The work usually starts in the morning at 9am, so by afternoon you are free to explore the area. We can also arrange the work so you have a day off while you`re here.
We prefer helpers who can stay for at least a week, but are happy to discuss this.
We are passionate about our country and love sharing it with travellers - we`ve roamed the country for 6 years in our motorhome so can suggest lots of lovely places for you to visit.

I'm 5km from Fox Glacier township. We are a 950 cow dairy farm that relies totally on pasture for feed. We milk seasonally with all cows calving in spring (Aug / Sep) and drying off in May. There are various scenic attractions in the area apart from the glacier, some excellent tramping opportunities in the mountains and a few superb hidden beaches. This situation would suit someone who likes animals, enjoys working outdoors and is easy going. Being into outdoor recreation / adventures would make sense. I've traveled and worked extensively in Asia and a few other places.
At the moment I'm looking for someone who has a work visa and can help out on a paid basis for Sep and into Oct as one of my regular staff is finishing. Work will be general farm chores but will hopefully include calf feeding and milking. Experience riding a 4x4 quad bike would be very useful. If this sounds like it might be you, send me a message. Cheers, Kerry

My partner and I live on a beautiful 40 hectare property between Greymouth and Hokitika (most of which is native forest). It needs maintenance including clearing tracks.
We also have 20 sheep, and occasionally need help with them. Lambing will take place soon....
Our preference is someone who has been raised in the countryside, is strong, and capable with a chainsaw. An international drivers licence would be a bonus. We like people who work hard, and are capable of doing so without supervision. At the moment we are cutting up wind-fallen trees from a road through our forest, for firewood

We only need help with housework from time to time. Also our children are grown up, and not living at home

In return for 4 hours work for every night you stay, we look after you well. Our food is good wholesome farm cooking. (Unfortunately we do not cater for vegetarian/vegan diets)

Please note we do not offer a single overnight stay. We want a person(s) who will stay for a minimum of... more inside
