Hi there, we are back to operating normally again and are happy to welcome some helpers. If you need a place to stay for a bit longer please contact us. We are also accepting short term stays.

We are a small Hostel with a stunning location, right at a magnificent beach. The famous Pancake Rocks and plenty of walking tracks into the Paparoa National Park are nearby. We are looking for enthusiastic & friendly people to help us with housekeeping and possibly some assistance at the reception desk. It's about two to three hours of helping us in exchange for accommodation, unlimited wifi and we provide homemade wholemeal bread. If you have at least 2 weeks time to spend, love the outdoors and nature, then we would like to hear from you.
Call us or send us an email for further details.

If you want to experience the West Coast of the South Island you couldn't get better than this offer. The most amazing beachside spot, fully self contained, off the grid but only a few minutes drive to Hokitika which is an amazing town. I have installed an amazing outdoor shower and flush toilet. I'm looking for building / landscaping assistance or someone who can cook. I also have a couple of horses that need exercising if you are an accomplished rider. Nothing nicer than a beach ride at sunset. Open to all offers of help though, so lets just talk and see if you can help me.

We moved from Nelson to Greymouth last year with the goal of setting up a home which can sustain our family.

We live a 10 minute walk from Central Greymouth on two sections with bees, chickens and rabbits.

Our goals currently revolve around building renovation on our house and garage and learning skills relating to permaculture and self-sustainable living.

We have 3 young kids and work and study from home.

We have one room available (queen bed) for a suitable person or couple; bathroom, kitchen etc would be shared so would work best with people who are relaxed around kids and a busy, sometimes noisy household.

Breakfast and dinner provided.

Hi I am an artist/musician and traveller. I like doing yoga and meditation most days.I am always happy to meet other travellers to share knowledge and life experience. As well as English I speak Italian.

I am looking for help on my property which I am developing as a nature retreat. It is a great place to re centre and recharge. It would suit people who are nature lovers who like being off the beaten track. There is no wifi or TV and only limited text coverage. Phone reception only if the gods are happy!

I enjoy meeting people from around the world to share knowledge, experiences, work and hopefully some laughs together.
I have enjoyed hosting this last year with helpx.I also have some previous experiences living in small communities overseas and have experience hosting travellers and being hosted through syncroncities and other platforms.I did a Permaculture Course about 5 years ago and am trying to put that into practice so people on that wave length are especially welcome.... more inside

I live on a 40 hectare property between Greymouth and Hokitika (most of which is native forest) with a view over the Taramakau river. The land and house need ongoing maintenance including gardening, gathering firewood, window cleaning, painting, and clearing tracks.
I also have some sheep, and occasionally need help with managing them.
My preference is someone (or couple)who has been raised in the countryside, is strong, and capable with machinery. An international drivers licence would be a bonus. I like people who work hard, and are capable of doing so without supervision. At the moment I am setting up a new outside enclosure for my hens and clearing firewood from a track through our forest a,nd working around my garden area and tunnelhouse...
I may need help with some cooking from time to time. My children are grown up, and not living at home...

In return for 4 hours work for every night you stay, I look after you well. The food is tasty wholesome farm cooking. Vegetari... more inside
