Hello, we have a 'boutique' dairy farm on the edge of Oxford, North Canterbury, where we sell fresh, real milk through our Milk vending machine. We milk around 20 cows year round and this has been a very popular addition to our farm. Our eldest daughter has enjoyed doing Help Exchanges overseas so we would love to give someone the same opportunity!

We have a few jobs that we would like some help with clearing yard areas, sorting firewood, burning fire heaps. We also have ongoing jobs such as feeding out, weed spraying, gardening, painting, tidying and household chores so depending on the day there will be some variety.

We would like one person aged 20 and over who has reasonable English and has had a little bit of experience on a farm already so they are ready to jump in to help with anything. Hours/days of work are flexible but we would expect around 4-5 hours a day, depending on the jobs and weather. Maximum 7 day stay.

You will have your own private room, wifi, shared bath... more inside

I am looking for one or two (or more) people to stay. Families are ok too.
We need someone to do some gardening, maybe some painting, cutting firewood, cleaning etc.
We have just got ourselves a large property with heaps of apple trees and plum trees, plus lots of gardens.
I love cooking so I can make some great meals for you.
We have a warm, comfortable place for you to stay. It is very private.
We've had people stay while they kit out a van with a bed and cupboards etc, so if this is your plan, we have numerous tools that you are welcome to use.
We offer unlimited Wi-Fi, and unlimited food. You are welcome to cook yourself some food anytime.

We have a couple of road bikes you are welcome to use, and our van is available sometimes too, especially if you are looking at buying a vehicle and need to go and look at some.
Otherwise, I can usually organise a ride into Christchurch or Rangiora if you need to go there.

Our family is Mum, Dad (mostly away on business)... more inside

Hi, we are a well travelled, English family of 4, who have lived in NZ for 9 years now. We're are out most of the day, either at work (Phil in Christchurch, Alyson in Rangiora) and our 2 teenage kids are at school in Christchurch.

We have a small lifestyle block that is mostly garden, however we do have a few sheep and pigs.

The accommodation is separate and self-contained, ideally suited for 1 person or a couple. Complete with cooking facilities, shower, double bed, lounge, TV, WIFI etc.

Public transport options are very limited so your own transport is important. There is the use of a bicycle and we can take you to the supermarket. We are 20km from the beach, 25km from the centre of Christchurch, 15km from Rangiora and 30km from Oxford.

We are offering accommodation only, although you are welcome to join the family meal occasionally as circumstances permit.

We are looking for 2 hours per day per person to do odd jobs around the house and garden. We have a long li... more inside

120 hectare deer farm in the North Canterbury foothills. Situated approx. 1 hour from Christchurch.

As the cottage is no longer available, accommodation is now offered in the main house -guest wing with double bed, own en suite and private outside sitting area. All meals provided in return for 4 to 5 hours work per day.

We have a working deer farm but at present, the main duties would be around the house - domestic cleaning, some tidying in the garden and whatever else needs doing at the time. We have three very friendly dogs who are happy to go for a walk too.

Mt Thomas is nearby if you are interested in tramping.

We can meet Helpers coming by bus to Rangiora or Woodend.

Length of stay - usually one to two weeks maximum.

Need a break from staying at backpackers in busy cities or towns?
4 / 7 days, longer if all goes well, stint starting 18th April onwards at semi-rural property 30 kms north of Christchurch.
Accommodation & food offered in return for 4 / 5 hours work per day involving general gardening, lots of weeding, digging & general tidying of a large garden (1300 sqm). Also, some DIY involving wood/timber & repairs. Knowledge/experience of woodwork/carpentry would be handy but not essential. I WILL BE HAPPY JUST TO HAVE THE GARDEN TIDY.
Property is on the bus route to Christchurch (buses run hourly), in a small town with cafes and a bar.
