We are a family with young children living on a historic property 10 minutes from Darfield in central Canterbury. We are looking for people to help us with mostly outside jobs who are self-sufficient, reliable and enthusiastic.

In addition to being a working farm, we also have a successful tourist business and one of the most significant gardens and arboretums in the region. The property is renowned for its beauty with its own hills with views extending from the Alps to the sea and a variety of listed historic buildings and trees. It is also very accessible being close to the thriving communities of Coalgate, Darfield, Glentunnel and Hororata and all the region has to offer including skiing (Mt Hutt and Porters ski fields are both 50 minutes away), hiking, fishing, mountain biking and climbing.

There is a variety of tasks on the property which dependent on your skills and the season can include gardening, farming, building, forestry, tourism and a host of other things in-betwe... more inside

The 9 baby Paradise ducklings and mum and Dad are all doing fine. They're enjoying themselves on the pond. And the lambs are all playing along the fence. Jumping, dancing and playing chasing. I love Spring!

Hi, we are a couple who enjoy meeting people from other walks of life. We live on a lifestyle block about 38 kms north of Christchurch and need some carpentry work and help with some work around the garden and other maintenance on our 10 acre lifestyle block. If you are okay or good with a chainsaw there are some trees that need to be cut down. We enjoy hearing about people's cultures and their life experiences. We are non-smokers and this is definitely a non-smoking home and environment.

We have several cats, all rescued, and all who understand English, Truly!!! A rascal of a dog, and 4 sweet alpacas which are pets. We share some of our land with our daughter, who lives next door, as she has several cattle to run. We do eat some of these cattle beasts.

We are a fai... more inside

****Currently seeking helpers. Primary work will be tidying up some cut branches into bonfire piles****

Our family live in a large 5-bedroom home on a 10-acre slice of NZ paradise. Our land is used to graze sheep for most of the year and make feed for nearby farms in the summer.

We have a well-established property and numerous native birds nest in the trees surrounding our home. Large living areas open onto an outdoor patio, and we have extensive lawns and grounds in which to relax. Our home is an 8-minute drive to the town of Rangiora where there are parks, stores and a cinema. The local area has a number of walks and hikes through native bush that range in difficulty from novice to advanced. It is 20 minutes to the local beaches.

We are able to cater for two people who wish to stay, either together or in separate bedrooms if required. Our main guest bedroom has a king size bed and an en-suite for your comfort. We have wifi available free to guests. If a party of four wish... more inside

*** Welcoming helpxer/s now :-) ***

Nestled in the beautiful Southern Alps is the historic settlement of Cass (approx half way between Christchurch and Greymouth). I am offering private accommodation, (separate from the house with own bathroom) and all groceries/meals in exchange for odd jobs - painting, gardening and lawn mowing.
There is plenty to do in the area including fishing on many of the nearby high country lakes (1.6km spectacular walk to Lake Sarah) day walks/ tramping in Arthurs Pass National Park and Craigieburn forest Park, skiing on one of the 5 local ski fields, four wheel driving, Scree jumping (down Sugar Loaf). A short drive to Cave stream scenic reserve (one of the south Islands best free activities) and Castle Hill natural rock climbing park (where scenes from Lord of the Rings and Narnia were filmed). Other nearby facilities are The Bealey Hotel (10mins) and Arthurs Pass 20mins. In exchange I would like four hours work per day. Cass can be reached by ... more inside

We are Vicky, Chris, Rosalie and Mateo and Einstein.

We are looking for a helping hand with gardening, housework, cooking, babysitting and much more. We always have something to do and we usually have a chat about the things we would like help with on your arrival day.

***We are unable to host more then one person. We do not have enough work and our space isn't huge either***

We are vegetarian but pretty open to all kind of different dishes.
You should be good with kids, ours are pretty open to people and love to listen to stories and music.

If you are happy with those tasks, carry on reading and flick us a message.

Vicky and Chris came to New Zealand as travellers in 2014, fell in love with the country straight away and did not leave ever since.
The twins Rosalie and Mateo joined the little family in August 2016 and brought a lot of life into the house.

You will be more an addition to the family and a helping hand than a worker, so we won't make you work for f... more inside

We have 6 farm dogs, two cats, a French Bulldog, cattle and sheep. What we need help with is the gardening, feeding lambs chicken egg collecting & egg cleaning, chicken coop nest clean out, tending (weeding) to young avocado trees, stacking wood and general house keeping. We would prefer a couple as we don't have a whole lot of time to entertain as we have a new baby and both work.
