Hallo :) We have a space for one or two people from mid next week until the end of the month.

We are a young and active Swiss-Kiwi family with three young children ranging from 3 year old to school age living on a lifestyle farm in the town of Oxford (45min away from Christchurch airport). We have all kind of animals (chicken, dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, calves, goats...) longing for attention as well as a garden and a big household appreciating support. Swiwi Farming & Equestrian is a small horse stud as well as a small farm raising calves and lambs.

The work for helpers will be depending on the time of year/preferences and include helping on the farm and in house and garden, looking after the animals and children plus helping with minor renovation and repair work. In return for 2h/day of work you get free accommodation in our cabin about 50m away from the house which has a small fridge, toaster and kettle and soon a composting toilet. The main toilet/shower is in the main h... more inside

We have a fabulous cliff top property just south of Gore Bay beach. There are six white Fallow deer, a wide variety of fruit trees to attend to, and an ever developing vegetable garden that we keep regularly replenished with seaweed and other composting mulches.
Work here is variable but normally including tidying the gardens of the property, firewood collection, weeding and generally helping out for between 4-6 hrs.
Meals are extremely wholesome. We are smoke-free and any special diet requirements must be entirely self-catered because we eat both meat and fish periodically. Also we would discuss with you what normal internet usage is.
Anna is a qualified herbalist and Naturopath and this year we are beginning a distillery beside the swimming pool, with the goal of making herbal tinctures, and Tony is hoping to make a good high percentage alcohol Gin!
It's a quiet paradise here between beach and Hurunui river ecosystems. We can offer bicycle, canoe, sup board and surfboards a... more inside

Our property is 20 minutes from the centre of Christchurch. We are a busy working family and run a rose business from our property. Our helpers stay in a warm and private cottage with one double bed, own bathroom and kitchen.

Food for breakfast/lunch is provided which you make in your own cottage, and dinner is shared with the family. We always appreciate a traditional meal (or anything else!) if you like to cook/bake.

Help needed is varied depending on the time of year. You will either be helping us in our rose nursery or general help around the property/house, just wherever we need an extra pair of hands! Our helpers typically help for about 4.5 hours a day, with one day off.

*** Welcoming helpxer/s now :-) ***

Nestled in the beautiful Southern Alps is the historic settlement of Cass (approx half way between Christchurch and Greymouth). I am offering private accommodation, (separate from the house with own bathroom) and all groceries/meals in exchange for odd jobs - painting, gardening and lawn mowing.
There is plenty to do in the area including fishing on many of the nearby high country lakes (1.6km spectacular walk to Lake Sarah) day walks/ tramping in Arthurs Pass National Park and Craigieburn forest Park, skiing on one of the 5 local ski fields, four wheel driving, Scree jumping (down Sugar Loaf). A short drive to Cave stream scenic reserve (one of the south Islands best free activities) and Castle Hill natural rock climbing park (where scenes from Lord of the Rings and Narnia were filmed). Other nearby facilities are The Bealey Hotel (10mins) and Arthurs Pass 20mins. In exchange I would like four hours work per day. Cass can be reached by ... more inside

We are sorry everyone but we are full for the next month (July) will update when we can accommodate again.

Hi, we have lived in Waipara for 12 years and have created a little peace of paradise. Our house is 100 yrs old which we have restored in keeping with the old style. We have 2 beautiful guest rooms with king beds and en-suites.
Outside we have a country style garden covering quite a large area. We practice organic principles and grow vegetables, fruit trees, olives and grapes. We also have our own bees which supply all our honey and wax requirements.
We are happy to share our knowledge and teach new skills and look forward to your enquires. We offer meals and accommodation in return for about 4hrs work a day.
This is a happy and calm environment and expect the same.

July 2020 - hazelnut sorting (inside work)

We are looking for a couple or friends to help us with our hazelnut sorting for up to 10 days, 4 hours a day. If you enjoy the outdoors as we have 10 acres and always something to do, this is a job for you and we would love to hear from you.

Farms are full of hazards, so we do not take workers or helpers, we are looking at sharing our culture and local knowledge with travellers.

We will provide accommodation, good food for breakfast, lunch and dinner (happy for you to share the cooking) 1 loving cat that loves attention and of course everyone needs wifi!! We would love to hear from you if you are interested.
Thanks
Sally and Joe
