Hi, and welcome to NZ.

We have a small farm, located approximately 10 minutes south of Ashburton. Ashburton is about an hour south of Christchurch.

If you would enjoy helping with mainly gardening, weeding around trees, some fence painting, maybe some building and other assorted jobs around the farm please message us. These other jobs may include helping with building some new fences, helping with some firewood or house work. We are also developing a new part of the property and planting trees.

Other fun things are our feeding sheep & we are bottle feeding a lamb, and caring for our cattle. Also helping to look after the free-range hens and checking for their eggs, & spending time with the horses.

Here on our property we breed and train Harness race horses & Endurance horses. Currently we have 5 horses. 50 sheep & their lambs & 30 young cattle.

And a very friendly cat!

We have a large, warm, comfortable house & offer you your own room.

As we are a... more inside

We are vegan and vegetarian friendly! We also have some cattle that are grazed around the village and a flock of chickens with which we supply eggs to a shop in Timaru. We have two older children, a cat and a dog. Peel Forest has plenty of beautiful native bush with lots of walks to do. We live close to the Rangitata River which has the opportunity of rafting and kayaking. Peel Forest is a close community with a cafe and bar that has music nights, open mic nights, quiz nights and curry club. Come for an adventure!

We are a busy farming family of six that try to juggle farming, self sufficiency, raising calves, sheep, and feeding our 4 cats, 3 dogs, horse and pony and flock of sheep and raising lots of chickens. (look up Te Moana Farmyard Poultry) When we can we like to go biking, walking, swimming, skiing, travelling, movies or Paddleboarding.

We enjoy hosting couples or friends staying who donít mind getting their hands dirty, work hard and enjoy learning about farming and sharing about themselves and their culture. Our guests are treated as an extension of our family and nothing is asked of our guests that we don't do ourselves. Many hands make light work. Our 4 kids are very energetic so we like helpers that enjoy hanging out with kids. Simply put we have alot of animals and kids!

We ask that helpers work from 8:30 - 2 and we provide full board. In the afternoons helpers are free to explore, relAx, read or be part of whatever we are doing as a family.

We live near the beach,... more inside
