Hello,
We are a family of five with three young children centrally located near Gore, approx an hour from Invercargill, an hour and a half from Dunedin and an hour or so to Queenstown.
We are looking for someone to help on our 750 acre sheep and beef farm and sometimes help with some domestic chores. No experience is necessary but an interest in animals/farming would be great! A good grasp of English is essential. Because it's a rural area, having your own transport would be helpful. However, we're happy to pick up/drop off at the Gore bus stop. Minimum stay is one week.
Accommodation is a self contained house.

Hi Everyone,
I know there are a lot of you who will be disparate for somewhere to stay due to the Covid-19 Lockdown.
My advice is head home this week, if you are able, as flights will cease both nationally and internationally!

We have my elderly Mum living with us plus we are an essential services business and this makes it very risky for us to help you.

I hope you manage to find somewhere safe and warm for the next 4 weeks!

Very sorry but we won’t reply to any emails until the Lockdown has been lifted.

We live 8km North of Invercargill, in Southland, and are currently doing up parts of our large, older, house, gardens and just about the whole property over time.

We would love help from anyone who can help gathering horse poo, lots of it, with general small farm work like weed spraying, firewood, gardening, mowing lawns, digging ditches, cleaning up branches, caring for livestock particularly my horses so you need horse experience for that, washing vehicles and po... more inside

*****Please note due to COVID19 we are not taking on any Helpers for the remainder of March or April *****
We are a family running a sheep farm (500 acres) in Western Southland (near Riverton), our family has been in the area for over 150 years, we are busy during most seasons and are always keen to host helpers wanting to learn about and get some experience on a sheep farm, some tasks include general stock work, fencing, tree planting, lambing, feeding out during the winter months, electric fencing, painting etc. Accomodation is a recently built warm tourist style cabin/house behind our family home on the farm, length of stay is negotiable. We enjoy good food and like to have a relaxed fun atmosphere.

Kia Ora, we are family of three, with a newborn Sogdiana, our daughter. We live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, on the way to Milford Sound, a world-renowned natural wonder. We live 5 minute walk to down town and 10 minuet walk to the lake. This place is truly incredible, with Fiordland National park pretty much in our backyard.

We are offering a room with a single bed, shared bathroom, limited wifi, and a dinner in exchange for 3.5 hr a day of help around the house. Please take care of your own breakfast and lunch. Maximum stay is 3 nights. You can also have an option of working 6 hr one day and have a day off the next day so you can explore Southland if you would like to.

We will mainly need help around the house, cleaning, help with dinners and some garden work, nothing complicated, just a day to day tasks. We are quite relaxed and flexible, it is important to us that you have a good time and feel part of the family.

Kind Regards,

Hi guys,

I'm sorry we are not taking helpers for a few months. Please take care out there. xxx Kat and the gang

We are a farming family with 4 young children. We live 15 mins East of Invercargill city.

We don't need helpers, but we enjoy guests. As a guest of our family, you can expect to be well fed, accommodated, and share in our everyday farm and family life :).

We take guests for a maximum of 3 nights.

Your own transport is useful if you want to go and explore, and because of our young ones, we would prefer non-smoking people please.

We have a hut ("The Nest"), just next to our home, which you are welcome to stay in. It is small, but tidy and new, with good insulation and good heating. The Nest doesn't have toilet or shower facilities (they're in the house and not available during the night). It has 1 queen-sized bed and comes with its own series of outside bushes to pee in.

If this all sounds okay to you please feel free to get in touch. Please d... more inside

We are primarily an intensive sheep farm with commercial and stud flocks - breeding rams to sell.

We are both well traveled, we have two adult sons - both working off farm. We often have overseas trainees and visitors and find that there are periods of the year, that we have room for wwoofers to give extra help around the house, garden and on the farm.

Right now, we are looking for a super star helper starting 15/16 March for a couple of weeks or latest 25/26 March. We're busy doing lots of sheep work in the yards, drenching and weighing lambs, some shearing coming up and lots of summer jobs plus home jobs like gardening, painting, etc.. There are always lots of different jobs to do for the right person. We are looking for someone who is physically fit and enjoys working outdoors, who would like to help our permanent farm crew. You don't need to have worked on a sheep farm before but you do need to be keen, active and have a great "can do" attitude. We have a great tea... more inside

This is a stud beef cattle property situated near picturesque Winton in Central Southland. The area is renowned for its farming and Torrisdale (the farm) is surrounded by dairy and mixed farming properties. The property is within short travel distances of some of the most talked about 'tourist' locations including Queenstown which is only a 100 minute drive away.
Like on all farms there are things to do. Preparing for/and maintenance of shelter tree plantings, small building and maintenance projects and some gardening are just some of the outdoors jobs that helpers could be involved with plus for those who have some experience, mingling with the cattle is occasionally on the list.
Food and accommodation (own room, shared bathroom) provided. Capped Internet access available. Helpers who are proficient in cooking (for themselves mostly) and putting their hand to the occasional bit of housework would fit well in the routine that is usually in vogue here. If you don't have transpor... more inside
