We live very close (one of the closest houses) to Fiordland National Park. We are next to the start of the Kepler Track great walk, which you can start walking on from our land.

Our beautiful, rural organic small farm on 2 hectares provides amazing views of the Kepler mountains, lake Te Anau and the Murchison mountains, home to one of NZ's rarest birds, the takahe. It is a fantastic spot summer or winter.

In your afternoons, you can cycle a short distance to Te Anau township from our home, off track around the lake. We are also next door to an amazing off road cycle path down a Lord of the Rings river. We have bikes you can use. We have chickens, flowers, hammocks.

We are currently booking HelpEx for 2018/2019, which is September onwards. However, if you are interested in winter Helpexing now, do drop us a line as we have some availability! Please note we only take one HelpEx at a time and we do have facilities to take couples.

We have a small farm running Highland cattle, some milking cows for our own use, hens, pigs and ducks and lambs.
We have a moderate size tunnel house raising our own seed for vegtables and depending on the season can be self sufficient in meat and vegetables, fruit and berries. We are alongside the Waikaia River and during the fishing season this a great trout river.
Our home is 3 kms from the local small town and within 2 hrs to Te Anau, Dunedin, Queenstown and Invercargill.
We would welcome help on the property either in the gardens and tunnelhouse or with the stock or buildings. We are willing to share our skills in animal husbandry and landcare with anyone willing to learn, and encourage your help with working with the stock.
Any Trade skills would be welcomed and used. We would look for around 4-5 hours help per day. There is a wonderful DOC reserve just up the road with tracks and off road exploring around about.
Great Cellphone reception and wifi available.

Hey this spring (& ongoing) I'm going to be aiming to set up a mini organic permacultural eco system & build a Spa pool and decking area overlooking the river, so yer it's all go & it would great to hear from anyone who's interested in permaculture & basically having fun!!

The house backs onto the Waiau River, the property requires help in maintenance and up keep. Very cruzy lifestyle and I like to have fun whilst doing tasks (its not really work) and then show off and explore the surrounding area of Southland and go hunting, fishing, surfing, kayaking, diving etc. I am always looking for helpers so hit me up if you are interested!!

The Lodge is run by Craig, Violaine (she's French). Our place is a fairly unique cafe/restaurant, lodge accommodation and camping ground with lots of vege gardens and orchards, dabbling in permaculture and organics.

Last Light Lodge and cafe is a summer seasonally busy lodge and cafe, catering to the wider area of locals, farmers, NZ and international tourists with all on site made foods. '
It is located 1 hour South of Te Anau and 1 Hour West of Invercargill within the small township of Tuatapere, population 550
Tuatapere is on the fringes of the Fiordland National parks, clean air, star lit skies with access to many outdoor adventure pursuits.

HelpXers can expect to assist in daily operations in the kitchen, improvements, gardens etc for approximately 5 hours each day.

Our vision was to create a semi self sufficient cafe, growing herbs, vegetables, fruits on site and preparing or processing on site.

As the summer season is really busy, we are looking for seasonal pa... more inside

This property is 10 acres with a large character homestead (circa 1929), which was once part of the historic Lynwood Station. The home has many period features, including wood panel wardrobes, bay windows and a number of fire places and two wood burners. Outside there is one large paddock deer fenced, with a well established garden with recently planted natives, orchard, mature specimen trees, a tunnel house, chook house, pig sty and "potentially" a large vegetable garden.

The property is just 9 Km from Te Anau itself(the largest lake in the South Island and second largest in New Zealand) which is the gateway to Fiordland and the majestic Lake Manapouri. The Keplar Track is nearby with other tramps a little further away like the start of the Routeburn and Caples Greenstone tracks at the Divide. The Mavora Lakes are also not that far away, a popular camping spot in the summer. Of course we are on the main High way to Milford.

We are looking to get either one person or a couple to come help us out for 1 week or so (we are flexible) 4hrs a day and we will supply a room (in our home) and three meals a day!

We are a married couple in our early 30s with a 2 year old and a 3 month old. We live on a high country station where we run a helicopter operation. We have a block 20mins away from the house where we are running some calves.

We would like someone for helping out in the garden, mowing the hanger lawn, helping to maintain the hanger, some odd outside jobs, farm jobs and if your comfortable with kids then would be fantastic.

Iím very flexible with work hours.

The accommodation is in the house with us. We would require someone who is good with kids and be motivated to get stuck into jobs.

We live up Piano Flat which offers some amazing walks, a good fishing and quite a few huts for overnight stays.

We are a sheep and beef farm with a few deer and goats. Mike works full time on the farm and his interests are Tennis, Squash, and making his own sausages and salamis. I work off farm and my interests are Tennis, Scrapbooking, Yoga etc and we have one 14 yr old child still living with us at home. Our home is up on a plateau at the base of the Takitimu Mountains, the scenery is what drew me to this part of Southland. We are very happy to be flexible with work hours to fit in with your sightseeing in the Fiordland area. It would be great if there are any helpers that would be interested in some gardening or stock work etc.

We live approximately 25 minutes from Te Anau and 12 mins from Manapouri, so any helpers will need their own vehicle. Te Anau is the gateway to Milford Sound and the Glowworm Caves and Manapouri is the gateway to Doubtful Sound, we are very happy to talk to travellers and help them with their plans. We can provide a bedroom with a double bed and shared ab... more inside
