Require a helper or 2 now until mid December.

We are looking for a MOTIVATED person or a couple to help us out. You need to be motivated, responsible, and who likes to cook would be super handy.
We rise early in the mornings for work, so we need someone the kind of the same.
Some occasions we need someone to help with the kids before school and after school from 3.30pm.

But mainly outdoor maintenance and gardening.

We run accommodation in 2 self contained cottages.
We need help with the cleaning of these to a high standard (summer months). Somtimes minding our 2 kids 11 year old son and 8 year old daughter who are both very independent and outgoing, a bit of house work would really help us, but we are a tidy family so it isn't a huge job. Also general outside duties. Animal care as well.
Cooking, maintenance skills, building, cleaning, are all things we need help with.

This is a stud beef cattle property situated near picturesque Winton in Central Southland. The area is renowned for its farming and Torrisdale (the farm) is surrounded by dairy and mixed farming properties. The property is within short travel distances of some of the most talked about 'tourist' locations including Queenstown which is only a 100 minute drive away.
Like on all farms there are things to do. Preparing for/and maintenance of shelter tree plantings, small building and maintenance projects and some gardening are just some of the outdoors jobs that helpers could be involved with plus for those who have some experience, mingling with the cattle is occasionally on the list.
Food and accommodation (own room, shared bathroom) provided. Capped Internet access available. Helpers who are proficient in cooking (for themselves mostly) and putting their hand to the occasional bit of housework would fit well in the routine that is usually in vogue here. Traditional Central Southland plains sheep farm, owned and operated by older couple, our children have left home. We have been involved in a high school student exchange programme for many years, and have hosted many students from around the world, and have really enjoyed this experience. We are now looking forward to meeting other young people who are interested in farming. We have about 1500 sheep, four horses, three working sheep dogs, plus a pet jack Russell terrier and a cat.
In early September we will start lambing, one of our busiest times of year, and October is tailing time plus cultivating for young grass and winter crops.

We also have a medium to large garden, flowers and vegetables, which we would appreciate some help with. Situated 17 kilometers from small town of Winton, and one and half to two hours driving from beautiful Fiordland and Queenstown lakes as well as The Caitlins.

***We are urgently looking for some keen helpers over the next two months to help us rear calves and during September when we are lambing.***
We are a family running a sheep farm (500 acres) in Western Southland (near Riverton), our family has been in the area for over 150 years, we are busy during most seasons and are always keen to host helpers wanting to learn about and get some experience on a sheep farm, some tasks include general stock work, fencing, tree planting, lambing, feeding out during the winter months, electric fencing, painting etc. Accomodation is a newly built warm tourist style cabin/house next to our family home on the farm, length of stay is negotiable. We enjoy good food and like to have a relaxed fun atmosphere.
