--+++ Come and experience a beautiful NZ coastal farm & go glamping! +++-- Lots of lambs and calves about now too!!

We are looking for one or two people to come and help us.

About us - we are a family of five with three children aged 6, 9 & 11 yrs. We live in Lavericks Bay, where we run a 1500 hectare sheep and cattle farm, and tourist accommodation in the form of a glamping site.

Lavericks Bay is about 35 min from the historic township of Akaroa, and 1.75hrs from Christchurch. Lavericks Bay has a population of 7 people (five being us) so there is plenty of peace and quiet. We also have a lovely sandy, safe swimming beach where you may spot seals, Hector Dolphins, our resident Yellow Eyed Penguin, and plenty of other birdlife.

You will be required to do about four hours of work per day (gardening/landscaping, help at the glamping site, and/or housework). In return you'll be provided with a bedroom and meals with us - lots of quality homemade meals :) There may even be t... more inside

Kia ora kotou
We are a busy family with 5 sons (8, 11, 16, 18, 22 years - with the two oldest being overseas this year) and live in Diamond Harbour on the Banks Peninsula.
We have a beautiful home and our Micro-Farm, as we call it ... a garden, some chickens and we grow organic children :-) There's always something happening in our house, but we also just enjoy the simple village and community life. We all love to have visitors, talking, eating together, sharing our home and getting to know new people.
And of course, there is always something to do in our household! We love doing it ourselves, but sometimes it is nice to have a little help, for example with work in the house, cooking, in the garden, with the children or just being there to give a little backup.
Diamond Harbour is a small village on the beautiful Banks Peninsula, no shops, but great community and lots of nature.

We are a German family with lots of travel experience in NZ and local knowledge and we are happ... more inside

We are looking for happy people to join our farm hostel team for a minimum of 2 weeks.

We are on a beautiful coastal sheep farm 6km out of Akaroa with plenty of walking, fishing and (dolphin) swimming. Help us with our little hostel, van park, campground and tramping hut. You will not be helping with the farm work.

Your accommodation will be a little basic hut or an old caravan. Itís a private accommodation just for yourself unless you are two people traveling together who want to share.

Please note that food is not included but there is a supermarket in Akaroa (about 6 km from here) that we can take you to on certain days, if you do not have your own transportation. We also provide a fully equipped kitchen for you to use.

After work, you can do one of the beautiful walks around our property, drive into Akaroa for a coffee, chill out in a hammock or meet the locals: our pet dogs, sheep or chickens.

If you would like to be part of the team for a while and ENJOY living ... more inside

Fancy waking up to a lovely sea view? We live in a beautiful spot, 10 mins drive from Akaroa, close to Duvauchelle and just over an hour from Christchurch. We can offer lovely accommodation separate to our house to one or two people willing to lend a hand with general spring clean/ DIY/ gardening duties. 4 and a half hours (hard) work every day you stay in exchange for accommodation and (good!) food -whether you are a meat eater/vegetarian.

Gnnerally, stays of a few nights or a week are usually more suitable for us than long term helpers although we have had some exceptional helpers who stayed for longer periods and this may be a possibility. We can pick up from the Akaroa Shuttle and sometimes Christchurch.

We have lots to do in the garden: digging, weeding planting, clearing etc. Sometimes, but not so often, we need help with general spring cleaning: house washing, window cleaning, shed tidy.
We could do with some help with garden work at the moment including shift... more inside

We are looking for a Helper or two that can start as soon as possible.

We live on a beautiful property surrounded by native bush. We have large gardens, fruit and nut trees, also berry fruits and more.

We have a stream running through the property which we'll eventually use to generate power, already have solar set up.

We're looking for happy easygoing people to help us out with daily tasks. We keep this place pretty well maintained so nothing is too hard or laborious.

Accommodation here is an almost finished self-contained colonial style sleepout, it has a loft which can sleep 2, also bedding for one or two downstairs.

Our daughter is Evie. . she's 7, is fluent in both English and Mandarin and is awesome. She's very friendly, fun and loves talking with and playing with other people.

We hope our Helpers can help for 4 or so hrs each day, and we don't usually ask people to work in the rain.

We cook nice meals!

August/September

We are currently looking for a willing person to help us spring clean and prepare our farmhouse accommodation for the coming spring/summer season.

This would suit someone who loves to make a home feel tidy, garden, clean and looking great. We are also doing some decorating as well (see pictures - it is very tidy we just like to make it shine).

Own transport preferred.

This may suit travelling couple.

We provide our helpers with a lovely room of their own with private bathroom, outside patio and stunning views and good meals.

This is best suited to someone who is keen to immerse themselves in farm and family life during their stay as we are semi isolated and some distance from cafes! But we make it up with the views!

About us:
We are a family farm situated in Little Akaloa (Banks Peninsula) running sheep and beef. We are running and expanding our accommodation business and my husband runs our farming businesses. Located 30 minutes from Akaroa ... more inside

Our family of five lives on a 10 acre lifestyle block 25 minutes south of Christchurch on the way to Akaroa. We grow our own vegetables, fruit and animals on the farm, and usually cut the larger paddocks for hay. We enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible and are keen bikers, skiiers and climbers. The size of the property means there is always a lot to do so we are grateful for the time and energy our helpers give to us.

We offer free self-catering accommodation in our fully self-contained one bedroomed flat, plus use of bikes, swimming pool and unlimited wireless internet in exchange for 4 hours labour per day. You can also help yourself to whatever is in season - vegetables, grapefruit, figs, pears, plums, feijoas, rhubarb etc. Work includes light farm duties and gardening and is suitable for those with no farm experience. Typical jobs include tending the vegetable patch, weeding, mowing the lawns and pruning trees and bushes. As we have three children there is plenty to be... more inside

Our property a lifestyle block with lovely cottage gardens and ponds which is open in spring for Devonshire teas and available as a wedding venue. Most of the help needed would be garden maintenance including weeding, pruning, hedge trimming, mowing, mulching, planting, potting and pond maintenance. The accommodation is an 1880s cottage which is joined to the host house but can be completely self contained with its own small kitchen and lovely living and bathroom areas. We would provide cooked dinner and basic breakfast supplies. We would expect 4 hours a day of work in exchange for food and board but are happy to negotiate. We are about 15 minutes drive from the closest shops in Lincoln so would highly recommend the helper has their own transport. We are about 50 minutes from Akaroa, a beautiful place to explore as is the rest of Banks Peninsula. Christchurch is about 25 minutes by car. We have 2 dogs and 1 cat (and 3 chickens) so helpers would need to be comfortable with pets.
