We are looking for happy people to join our farm hostel team for a minimum of 2 weeks.

We are on a beautiful coastal sheep farm 6km out of Akaroa with plenty of walking, fishing and (dolphin) swimming.

We need help with general housekeeping in the hostel, van park, campground and track hut for about 3 hours per day. Sometimes we require help with other tasks like gardening, firewood or painting.

Please note that food is not included but there is a supermarket in Akaroa (about 6 km from here) that we can take you to on certain days, if you do not have your own transportation. We also provide a fully equipped kitchen for you to use.

Your accommodation will be a little hut or a caravan.

We run our own dolphin swimming trips from Nov to April.

After work, you can do one of the beautiful walks around our property, drive into Akaroa for a coffee, or chill out in a hammock or with the locals: our pet dogs, sheep, goats, doves and chickens.

If you would like to be part ... more inside

Our sheep & cattle and farm is located in a picturesque private bay. We have a large organic garden and run a Farmstay & Farm Tour business. Helpers here join in and become part of the family. Jobs are varied depending on what we are doing when you are here e.g. gardening, cooking, cleaning, farm work. We have two granddaughters aged 3 & 5 who both have ponies so you need to be a confident horse rider. Minimum stay 2 weeks. See our website for further information, photos and location map.

**We are currently looking for a couple who wants to help us with farm projects (laying a brick patio, planting seeds in the green house, renovating a barn into a brewery, cutting out marram grass, seasonal work with the sheep, walking the dogs, gardening, cleaning of the guesthouse, etc) for the summer and fall 2018/2019. We are most desperate for help from Dec 20 - Jan 7, or longer during our busy season!

We are finding it hard to complete normal, daily projects with a 5 month old baby in tow now. We are also looking for a couple to watch the farm (2 dogs, sheep, chickens, guesthouse and property in general) while we are on holiday for 5 weeks in the month of June 2019. We would provide a 2+ meals a week, and with the exception of the June 2019 timeframe, you could stay in our super awesome newly renovated caravan at the beach, with two bikes and two stand up paddle boards at your disposal. The river is very tidal and leads into the surf at the beach, making for fun SUP advent... more inside

!!! We especially look for people from 15th of January 2019 as this is a busy time for us !!!

Kia ora kotou
We are a busy family with 5 sons (8, 11, 16, 18, 22 years - with the two oldest being overseas next year) and live in Diamond Harbour on the Banks Peninsula.
We have a beautiful home and our Micro-Farm, as we call it ... a garden, some chickens and we grow organic children :-) There's always something happening in our house, but we also just enjoy the simple village and community life. We all love to have visitors, talking, eating together, sharing our home and getting to know new people.
And of course, there is always something to do in our household! We love doing it ourselves, but sometimes it is nice to have a little help, for example with work in the house, cooking, in the garden, with the children or just being there to give a little backup.
Diamond Harbour is a small village on the beautiful Banks Peninsula, no shops, but great community and lots of nature.... more inside

Kia Ora.
We love sharing our paradise on a privately owned wildlife reserve with helpers from all over the world. It gives us the chance of virtual travel, learning from the wonderful people who temporarily share our valley.

Most of the help we need throughout the year is to maintain our gardens and orchards around the homestead. We operate sustainably which requires intensive labour and results in healthy food to share.

If you can help, we can offer accommodation in our rustic self-contained cabin. We can supply some homegrown food, however, you will need to be prepared to provide most of your own meals.

We are kiwis who have a passion for the natural environment, creative activities and sharing with people. We can share the flora and fauna of Banks Peninsula, fresh eggs, seasonal fruit and vegetables, and choices of walking tracks through native bush on Banks Peninsula`s "wildside".

The people we would like to share this place with will be nature lovers, especially t... more inside
