We are looking for happy people to join our farm hostel team for a minimum of 2 weeks.

We are on a beautiful coastal sheep farm 6km out of Akaroa with plenty of walking, fishing and (dolphin) swimming.

We need help with general housekeeping in the hostel, van park, campground and track hut for about 3 hours per day. Sometimes we require help with other tasks like gardening, firewood or painting.

Kia Ora.
We love sharing our paradise on a privately owned wildlife reserve with helpers from all over the world. It gives us the chance of virtual travel, learning from the wonderful people who temporarily share our valley.

Most of the help we need throughout the year is to maintain our gardens and orchards around the homestead. We operate sustainably which requires intensive labour and results in healthy food to share.

If you can help, we can offer accommodation in our rustic self-contained cabin. We can supply some homegrown food, however, you will need to be prepared to provide most of your own meals.

We are kiwis who have a passion for the natural environment, creative activities and sharing with people. We can share the flora and fauna of Banks Peninsula, fresh eggs, seasonal fruit and vegetables, and choices of walking tracks through native bush on Banks Peninsula`s "wildside".

The people we would like to share this place with will be nature lovers, especially t... more inside

Hi There Helpers,

We have a small flock of sheep, hobby vineyard and a good sized garden and are looking for one helper to start Monday 8th April for around two weeks.

The work will be gardening and general farm work so any experience with sheep would be helpful but not essential. There's also the possibility that we will be picking grapes towards the end of the month, weather dependant of course.

Our property runs from the road down to a small beach where we keep a couple of kayaks helpers can use or just swim, walk and enjoy our beautiful little bay.

We would like you to work five hours a day with us(or whatever suits us both) in return for a room and good healthy, varied meals. Peter loves cooking on the barbeque and sharing his knowledge of grape growing and making his own wine and beer.

If you don't have your own transport you can take the Christchurch to Akaroa shuttle bus, get off at Barry's Bay (where the cheese factory is) and we will collect you from the... more inside

**We are currently looking for a couple who would be able to watch over the farm whilst we travel overseas to visit family, from 25 May to 2 July. You would be living in our 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom guesthouse which is normally rented as accommodation and just making sure the dogs, chickens, sheep and garden are all looked after. It's really easy and pleasurable work in a pristine part of New Zealand that many may miss (Banks Peninsula) because it's slightly out of the normal travel paths. Walking & feeding the dogs, keeping the chickens fed and watered, collecting chicken eggs, and the occasional counting of (and feeding treats to) the sheep are the main chores. Some light gardening and mowing may need to be done depending on how the season is treating us.

You would have two bikes and two stand up paddle boards at your disposal. The river is very tidal and leads into the surf at the beach, making for fun SUP adventures.**

//+++++ Come and experience a beautiful NZ coastal farm +++++We are looking for one or two people to come and help us.

About us - we are a family of five with three children aged 6, 9 & 10 yrs. We live in Lavericks Bay, where we run a 1500 hectare sheep and cattle farm, and tourist accommodation in the form of a glamping site - http://www.canopycamping.co.nz/lavericks-bay

Lavericks Bay is about 40 min from the historic township of Akaroa, and 1.75hrs from Christchurch. Lavericks Bay has a population of 10 people (five being us) so there is plenty of peace and quiet. We also have a lovely sandy, safe swimming beach where you may spot seals, Hector Dolphins, our resident Yellow Eyed Penguin, and plenty of other birdlife.

You will be required to do about four hours of work per day (gardening/landscaping, help at the glamping site, and/or housework). In return you'll be provided with bedroom and meals with us - lots of quality homemade meals :) There may even be the possibilit... more inside
