Our family of five lives on a 10 acre lifestyle block 25 minutes south of Christchurch on the way to Akaroa. We grow our own vegetables, fruit and animals on the farm, and usually cut the larger paddocks for hay. We enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible and are keen bikers, skiiers and climbers. The size of the property means there is always a lot to do so we are grateful for the time and energy our helpers give to us.

We offer free self-catering accommodation in our fully self-contained one bedroomed flat, plus use of bikes, swimming pool and unlimited wireless internet in exchange for 4 hours labour per day. You can also help yourself to whatever is in season - vegetables, grapefruit, figs, pears, plums, feijoas, rhubarb etc. Work includes light farm duties and gardening and is suitable for those with no farm experience. Typical jobs include tending the vegetable patch, weeding, mowing the lawns and pruning trees and bushes. As we have three children there is plenty to be... more inside

Our property a lifestyle block with lovely cottage gardens and ponds which is open in spring for Devonshire teas and available as a wedding venue. Most of the help needed would be garden maintenance including weeding, pruning, hedge trimming, mowing, mulching, planting, potting and pond maintenance. The accommodation is an 1880s cottage which is joined to the host house but can be completely self contained with its own small kitchen and lovely living and bathroom areas. We would provide cooked dinner and basic breakfast supplies. We would expect 4 hours a day of work in exchange for food and board We are about 15 minutes drive from the closest shops in Lincoln so would highly recommend the helper has their own transport. We are about 50 minutes from Akaroa, a beautiful place to explore as is the rest of Banks Peninsula. Christchurch is about 25 minutes by car. We have 2 dogs and 1 cat (and 3 chickens) so helpers would need to be comfortable with pets.

!!+++ Come and experience a beautiful NZ coastal farm & go glamping! +++!!

We are looking for one or two people to come and help us as soon as possible.

About us - we are a family of five with three children aged 6, 9 & 10 yrs. We live in Lavericks Bay, where we run a 1500 hectare sheep and cattle farm, and tourist accommodation in the form of a glamping site - http://www.canopycamping.co.nz/lavericks-bay

Lavericks Bay is about 35 min from the historic township of Akaroa, and 1.75hrs from Christchurch. Lavericks Bay has a population of 8 people (five being us) so there is plenty of peace and quiet. We also have a lovely sandy, safe swimming beach where you may spot seals, Hector Dolphins, our resident Yellow Eyed Penguin, and plenty of other birdlife.

You will be required to do about four hours of work per day (gardening/landscaping, help at the glamping site, and/or housework). In return you'll be provided with bedroom and meals with us - lots of quality homemade meals... more inside

Our sheep & cattle and farm is located in a picturesque private bay. We have a large organic garden and run a Farmstay & Farm Tour business. Helpers here join in and become part of the family. Jobs are varied depending on what we are doing when you are here e.g. gardening, cooking, cleaning, farm work. Minimum stay 2 weeks. See our website for further information, photos and location map.

Kia ora kotou
We are a busy family with 5 sons (8, 11, 16, 18, 22 years - with the two oldest being overseas this year) and live in Diamond Harbour on the Banks Peninsula.
We have a beautiful home and our Micro-Farm, as we call it ... a garden, some chickens and we grow organic children :-) There's always something happening in our house, but we also just enjoy the simple village and community life. We all love to have visitors, talking, eating together, sharing our home and getting to know new people.
And of course, there is always something to do in our household! We love doing it ourselves, but sometimes it is nice to have a little help, for example with work in the house, cooking, in the garden, with the children or just being there to give a little backup.
Diamond Harbour is a small village on the beautiful Banks Peninsula, no shops, but great community and lots of nature.

We are a German family with lots of travel experience in NZ and local knowledge and we are happ... more inside

Fancy waking up to a lovely sea view? We live in a beautiful spot, 10 mins drive from Akaroa, close to Duvauchelle and just over an hour from Christchurch. We can offer lovely accommodation separate to our house to one or two people willing to lend a hand with general spring clean/ DIY/ gardening duties. 4 and a half hours (hard) work every day you stay in exchange for accommodation and (good!) food -whether you are a meat eater/vegetarian.

Gnnerally, stays of a few nights or a week are usually more suitable for us than long term helpers although we have had some exceptional helpers who stayed for longer periods and this may be a possibility. We can pick up from the Akaroa Shuttle and sometimes Christchurch.

We have lots to do in the garden: digging, weeding planting, clearing etc. Sometimes, but not so often, we need help with general spring cleaning: house washing, window cleaning, shed tidy.
We could do with some help with garden work at the moment including shift... more inside

We would love some help with the many jobs there are to do around the house and garden. The house is on 1 acre of land and now there is a new 4 hectare block of land we are developing adjacent to it. Its not a farm stay although we do have chickens and bees and plenty of birds! This is a steep property on a beautiful site, with a large house in the sun (mostly). It's 20 minutes walking distance from Akaroa. There are many great walks in the area and we are in the heart of many great hiking tracks.

We appreciate the help with the many jobs there are to do. There is always help needed especially when it comes to weed eating (grass cutting) work and gardening. At the moment we are doing some indoor painting as well.

Hollie works full time and Ad works mostly on the land. We prefer 2 helpers (a couple or 2 handy friends) at once who can work together or people who don't mind working on their own. Also people who are happy to cook for themselves too, as we have irregular eating ... more inside

My partner and I enjoy meeting people from around the globe. We offer a comfy home to stay in with us, just five minutes walk to the township of Akaroa if you wish to work. We have quite a lot of land so need help in the garden, cutting wood, painting, and general maintenance on our properties.
Anyone is welcome and all we require is help on our farm. If you can find your way to beautiful Akaroa we can do the rest! We would love to meet you.
