We are a family with young children living on a historic property 10 minutes from Darfield in central Canterbury. We are looking for people to help us with mostly outside jobs who are self-sufficient, reliable and enthusiastic.

In addition to being a working farm, we also have a successful tourist business and one of the most significant gardens and arboretums in the region. The property is renowned for its beauty with its own hills with views extending from the Alps to the sea and a variety of listed historic buildings and trees. It is also very accessible being close to the thriving communities of Coalgate, Darfield, Glentunnel and Hororata and all the region has to offer including skiing (Mt Hutt and Porters ski fields are both 50 minutes away), hiking, fishing, mountain biking and climbing.

There is a variety of tasks on the property which dependent on your skills and the season can include gardening, farming, building, forestry, tourism and a host of other things in-betwe... more inside

We are Vicky, Chris, Rosalie and Mateo and Einstein.

We are looking for a helping hand with gardening, housework, cooking, babysitting and much more. We always have something to do and we usually have a chat about the things we would like help with on your arrival day.

***We are unable to host more then one person. We do not have enough work and our space isn't huge either***

We are vegetarian but pretty open to all kind of different dishes.
You should be good with kids, ours are pretty open to people and love to listen to stories and music.

If you are happy with those tasks, carry on reading and flick us a message.

Vicky and Chris came to New Zealand as travellers in 2014, fell in love with the country straight away and did not leave ever since.
The twins Rosalie and Mateo joined the little family in August 2016 and brought a lot of life into the house.

You will be more an addition to the family and a helping hand than a worker, so we won't make you work for f... more inside

We are a small farm in BURNHAM which is an area around 20 km south of Christchurch.

The area is flat farm land with spectacular views of the mountains.

We have many kinds of farm and domestic animals and breed miniature horses. There are also large horses that can to be ridden (but not by beginners, sorry).

You must like horses, as you could be dealing with them daily. We want helpers to help for 4 hours per day each. At this time of the year we would like helpers to work in the garden and do other "odd jobs" around the farm. (Riding horses isn't work-Derek)

The accommodation is a comfortable cabin separate from the main house. You would be expected to be a part of our household so helping with house hold tasks could be expected. We have Wifi. We are not vegetarians but if you are that's okay.

If you don't have a vehicle there is a public bus system 3km from our gate that will take you into Christchurch.

You are more then welcome to visit, but we do like to have h... more inside

I am looking for helpers from August 2020.

Looking for helper/s from August for two to two 1/2 hours per day and you provide your own food.

I do have a room to rent if looking to stay longer. It is only suitable for a single traveler and we could do a deal with part helping and part rent.

Welcome to the beautiful garden city. The "London" of New Zealand.
Christchurch is only a short travelling distance from most things including walking on the Port Hills, beaches, markets, the city centre, Akaroa, Hamner Springs and Kaikoura.

I am a fifth generation Cantabrian and I have travelled in NZ and overseas. However, I prefer to not YouTube as I want experience my own beautiful moment.

I have a beautiful home for you to enjoy.

I have a full vegetable garden with many greens available to helpers. And I grow most herbs, mint, parsley, coriander, sage, thyme, oregano and rosemary. My tomatoes have just started to set.
I can make amazing meals and great desserts. ... more inside

****Hi there. I need a motivated, fun and easy going couple or two friends from Friday 2nd October for a week or so. I need help with gardening, weeding, stacking wood, windows, and housework. Please read through my listing and email me if you're interested. Thanks****

Hi there.
I am a woman in my 50's and I have a little farmyard paradise in the middle of the city of Christchurch, with large organic vegetable gardens, fruit and nut trees and chickens. Most people say it's like being in the country.

I'm 10 minutes drive/Lime scooter or 30 minutes walk from the inner city of Christchurch, 10-15 minutes drive from the beach and 10 minutes from The Tannery- a great place for live music with good beer and pizza. My two adult kids are in ChCh and are regular visitors, so you might meet them while you're here. I have an old dog called Uncle Cyrus who I rehomed at the beginning of the year; he's lovely and everyone's friend.

I usually ask my volunteers to work 5 hours a day f... more inside

Hi ! I've moved house ! Not far like through to the city side of our beautiful Port Hills.
But the time had come to find somewhere smaller , on the flat but with enough garden to excite me and to enjoy.
I've been here for just over a week and I'm settling in really well plus having renovations done. However there is still so much to unpack and organize. And I've barely started on the garden.! With it being spring I need to get planting and transferring plants from pots to the garden itself.
So, if there should anyone out there available and happy to come and stay for a few weeks and give me a hand please get in touch.
I've had such wonderful times with HelpX people from all around the world. You have not only given me much needed help and support but much companionship and joy.
I look forward to hearing g from you !
Most warmly Natalia

Yes we are still here and are happy to host Helpers on our lifestyle block who are currently living in NZ. We are a family of four, living on a small farm, 15 minutes west of Christchurch with a small mob of sheep and other farm animals.

We would love to hear from you if you want to help us with our stock work eg:shearing our Merino sheep is coming up in October and ongoing landscaping, developments and general jobs around home and animals. We also have 30 free range chickens, 3 dogs, 1 cat.

We are a short drive from Christchurch, so Helpers usually work 4 hours in the mornings with afternoons free to see the sites, the city or own interests but we are flexible with hours to suit Helpers if they take up a part time job, Your Own Transport would be preferable as we are 5km from any Bus routes. Cooking and/or Building skills would be useful for some jobs but not essential.

We can provide a comfortable room or small flat for couples who want to cook there own meals for 3 ho... more inside

We are looking for someone to help us with our school kids (Julian is 7y. and Anton 5y)
Drop off at school and some pick ups from school and light house duties. We had au pairs in the past, but sadly our last au pair needed to go home earlier due to the recall action from Germany due to Covid19
We prefer someone who can stay longer approximate four weeks if possible, to avoid to many changes for the kids.
This would also suit someone who has another part time job in chch.

We are living ca 1.5km from the eastern beaches in Christchurch, close to a forest and ca 25 min bus ride or 30 min cycle into the central city.
We, as a family like being active in the outdoors, trying to eat healthy and have travelled extensively ourselves.

Bruce is from Aussie and works as a Ranger for DOC and Andrea is from northern Germany and works as an occupational therapist

You will have your own room and we can provide a bike and you can use our paddle board, kayak etc.
We will provide 3 ... more inside

My garden has taken off on me and my windows need cleaning. So the work would on my grounds and general house cleaning.
I live on my own, however my three daughters and their husbands and eight grandchildren, are often at my house. My daughter and her family live next door. My seven year old black labrador is named ANZAC. I have a new house that has been rebuilt after our earthquakes. I ask for two hours of help a day and you take care of your meals or 4 hours a day and I provide meals.
The HelpX people I have had to date have been fabulous.
I enjoy having helpers, single or a couple, and my grandkids life is richer for all the lovely people they have met from all around the world.
Looking forward to sharing my home with you.
